I wasn't sure if it would be as advertised, but I'm totally surprised! Everything worked and was very easy to install. It holds its grip well and positions in many different configurations.I mounted it on a Sonor Designer kit, and I know they're selling to the American Market, but if they included a removeable thread insert, for Sonor lug screws, they'd could sell a lot more.

WAY better than the RIMS that it replaced. Highly recommend and very easy to install (watch YouTube).

My kit originally came with an older style mount that choked the drum. I replaced them with a more common rim mount, but quickly found those get in the way of mic mounts and are just a little tacky looking. These mounts are fantastic. As they mount to the shell, I was a little worried they would choke the drum, but mine do not choke it to a degree that I notice it. I have plenty of tone with these. They’re also a smaller form factor, which makes mounting mics way easier. My only complaint is the side that faces the drum is sealed. One of the lug nuts had collapsed inside the metal shell and I had to fish it out with a screwdriver. Also, it means if I ever need to replace the tension rod, I’d have to replace the whole mount but that’ll probably never happen.

I recently picked up a Ludwig Keystone Allstar kit that had the older style RIMS mount on the 12” rack top. In 1992 the RIMS mounts were state of the art, not so much today as every brand has a suspension system. While any suspension system is better than putting a hole in a tom, adjusting the positioning from behind the kit is a pain. I had used the Atlas lugs on my previous CM kit and loved them. They’re clean, they look killer and you can use them to mount rods for holding cymbal mounts or percussion pieces. I was worried they might not fit a kit from 2011 but the lower bolt floats up and down and fit the Keystone hole pattern beautifully. Once installed and retuned the tom sounded crystal clear and I’m now able to easily adjust the position of the tom on the fly.If you own a Ludwig kit, having a few of these is a must. Yes I will buy again.

When I did a restoration project on an older Ludwig drum set I decided to get rid of the tom mount from the bass drum. I went with the Atlas Single Mount Bracket that attaches to the tom shell replacing one of the lug brackets and clamps onto a cymbal stand. I have the same setup with 3 other Ludwig drum sets and really like it, Very simple and quick to attach to the tom shell, then just simply attach the clamp to a cymbal stand that will allow you to place the tom exactly where you want it. Once the clamp is securely tightened where you want it it is just a matter of placing the tom on the l-rod that comes with the mounting bracket, adjust the position and angle of the tom and tighten it down. There is an unlimited amount of flexibility to the bracket because of the ball and socket style of the clamp, and I have never had any problem with any of them slipping or moving once they are tightened down. I would highly recommend these to any drummer that wants to eliminate the bass drum shell tom mounts. They are excellent!

The bracket provides a secure connection to my tom, though I could wish it weren't so heavy.

It worked well on my 1970s Ludwig rack tom. No extra holes to drill. Just remove one lug and replace it with this mount bracket. It's adjustable so it works on both the classic and mini classic Ludwig lugs. I was using a R.I.M.S. mount before this and the sustain is about the same. I didn't notice any difference between the two. However, cosmetically the rack tom looks less bulky and cleaner with this Ludwig mount bracket.

I used a Vibraband mounting system for my 2007 Ludwig Classic Maples. My problem was not getting the 2 toms (12", 13") to come closer together like with my Yamaha practice kit. The ATLAS transition was relatively painless using my ratchet set, and took a little time to get the angles that works best for me once installed. Still not perfect, but good enough. Plus it looks less bulky when everything is set up. A heads up to working musicians...make sure your cases are large enough to allow for the extra width. My existing Protection Racket bags already allowed for that.

Extremely clever design and rock solid stability are the hallmarks of this product. I replaced one lug on my 1965 vintage Ludwig 9/13 tom with this mount and used the new Ludwig Arch Rail Mount to attach the drum to the kick drum. Great system, with a wide range of adjustability. The lug bolt works smoothly and securely with the receptacle on this mount. Highly recommended for mounting a drum without having to do any drilling.
