I haven't had these long, but so far so good. I bought the self-testing model, it took me a sec to figure out how to enable on the spot manual testing of the lights. Normally you just push the button in, and for as long as you hold the button the lights are powered from the battery. With this unit to turn the lights on manually for testing you push the button and release, then push the button again and hold. Pretty nice in that you don't have to rig up something to hold that button down for an extended test, but something that took me a biut to figure out. Again, this is the unit that does automatic self-testing, but I like being able to still do it the manual way on occasion.

Look good and installed quickly. Only thin mf I would say is that the instructions could have been a little clearer about plugging in the battery. I figures it out since I saw the disconnected wires but didnt have the face off the first one I installed so took me a bit to find where it went either than that it was quick. Only took about a half hour to replace 3 old exit and emergency lights with these 3 combos.

Overall great exit lights for the price-point! As other reviewers have noted - Make sure to plug in the battery or they will not work right! (this step isn't mentioned in the instructions!) "It seems that the issue is due to the batteries not being connected. Take in mind that the batteries on these units come disconnected so that they do not get drained during transit. Can you please make sure that the batteries are connected after the installation is complete. Please allow the batteries to charge for at least 48 hours before testing the exit sign. If you continue to experience the same issue, please contact us directly so that we may further assist you."

Light Fixture Industries did a great job of getting the exit light to me on time and undamaged. The light is a quality light but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. But even with the poor instructions it was a fairly easy install and the exit light and emergency lights work well. They are much brighter than the emergency lights I am replacing. All in all I am very satisfied with the purchase and will buy from them again.

My first one was delivered broken. They replaced it, no questions asked, and very quickly. I read a lot about the wiring issues. I wired it just like the instructions said, and had no issues. The sign and emergency lights work perfect. The only thing is... Remember to plug in the battery first!! It doesn't say that anywhere in the instructions. Do that, and you'll have no problems.

Had a battery go bad on a fire exit light. Given the cost of a new battery this replacement was a good option plus the led lights are much brighter than the incandescent lights they replaced. These lights don't use Sealed Lead Acid batteries like the older models. This makes the overall product much lighter, although ,I am unsure how the new battery chemistry will affect longevity. The batteries in this model are user replaceable.

I love the LED lights about as bright as my older exit sign but instead of it using 60 watts per each sign this one only uses 5 watts. Eventually that should show up on me electricity bill. I'm happy I won't have to change light bulbs when they burn out anymore. New LED bulbs last much longer. The wiring is straight forward. Let me explain: my electrical wire coming out of the wall has a green wire (Ground), the white wire (negative wire) and the black wire (hot or positive) see picture above. The exit sign has one black wire 120v hot, one red wire 277v, and one white wire (negative or neutral they call it "comm"). The only way to make sure everything works right is to first plug in the battery wires on the right side of the sign to the board see both pictures above. Then connect the white wire with your white wire and the black wire with your black wire and leave the red wire alone and unconnected. So I connected the black and black wires, the white and white wires together and left the green ground wire by itself and the red unit wire by itself. Both green and red wires are unconnected. The unit should come on after connecting the two wires and then you place the plate back on the exit sign. You can press the small button on the right side of the exit sign and the two spot lights should come on as well but only when the button is pressed down. The battery backup will last about 90 minutes and to check that you have to turn off the breaker switch on your main electrical box to make sure it will kick on if you ever lose power.

Not much else to say. The plastic is thick enough it actually took a little work to knock out the holes for the wiring and the mounting screws. Just take the old unit off the wall, screw this one up there, attach the building wiring, plug in the battery, adjust the angle of the emergency lights, and away we go. Everything's so simple, I didn't even need the instructions.
