I'll start by saying I love the Large Dry Agogo very much. These small ones are a bit strange. The larger lower bell sounds nice with a decent sustain and fairly quick decay. The small top bell is rather unpleasant. It has a rash overtone, more of a ring to it. Aside from the ring it is overly dead in comparison to the bottom bell and the pitch seems far unmatched on this set. I purchased these LP577 before and returned them because I thought they were just defective. On this re-buy I realized they are just a bit strange. If you want this size I recommend the standard set. If you want a nice dry, pleasant tone, go with the LP579 Large Dry Agogo. They are much better than this wonky small set.
