This was a gift for my girlfriend who has been playing about a year and had learned on a very basic Kala. I bought this one for her as she was ready for a more serious instrument. It sounds better... more full... and she says she likes playing it much better. We plugged the electronics directly into my Fishman acoustic amp and it sounded surprisingly good. I felt like she could have played it like that in front of a small audience. She also likes having strap buttons, as the old ukulele didn't have any. I would recommend one of these for someone at an intermediate stage who is ready to upgrade to a more serious instrument.

I wanted to try out a suitable electric ukulele, in a change from my several acoustic baritone and tenor ukes, without spending a bunch of money, so I found this one and have been very pleased with it. Sounds good even without being plugged into an amp, and sounds even better when it is. Have had it for about 6 months now and am very happy with the instrument: stays tuned, sounds good, action is good, does the job at hand very well.

Purchased a beginner concert Lanikai for granddaughter. Sale on $100 uke for half. Enjoyed playing it, a lot of fun but frets too narrow. Long time guitar player but novice uker. Not hard to learn on GCEA tuning. So purchased this tenor model with more fret room and Fishman Kula preamp with tuner. Absolutely love it playing at home or performance. Plugged in to Fishman Loudbox mini amp and you have perfect combination ... beautiful amplified natural tone, add a bit of reverb and you're ready for stage or recording. Excellent quality built in materials and finish. Pretty instrument. Solid cedar top with mahogany laminate sides and back make it less costly than solid wood throughout. No compromise in tone; only happier pocketbook.Fabulous, padded backpack case with deep side pocket. Enjoy taking it on hikes and camping. Highly recommend.
