My previous air gap had very fine threads that were part of the actual air gap that screwed on from above the sink. It would often come apart if the hoses or the air gap cover were bumped. The threads on the Kohler are much more substantial. It is a great color match to the sink and Kohler faucet that I recently installed. The cap fully covers all of the air gap and sits flush on the sink surface.

Mala calidad del empaque que maltrata el producto. Por lo que al final tendrán un producto que parece usado. Las tres veces salió mal.

I recently renovated my kitchen and had to replace my faucet with a brushed nickel instead of stainless steel. This was easy to install and works perfectly with my Bosch dishwasher. The finish is really nice and the piece is small doesn't take up much space at your sink. Highly recommend for anyone looking to replace theirs and need a brushed nickel finish.

We recently replaced our kitchen faucet with the faucet. Pfister makes an air gap in the same color, but it just doesn't look attractive because of the way the holes are cut. We chose this Kohler air gap because I like the holes better, and as a bonus, I love, love, love the way that the bottom of the gap cover hides the unit so that there is no white ring around the base as with our old air gap and as the Pfister air gap has.Installation was quick and easy, and it was a perfect match for our Pfister faucet. This is labelled "Kohler" on the actual product, but it's pretty unobtrusive, and I doubt anyone else will notice that the two features come from different brands.

Other reviewers are correct about the cheap plastic feel of the air gap itself. Although it's generally not any worse than the standard Home Depot or Lowe's unit, what I didn't like about it was the included washer that is supposed to create the seal on the top of the sink; it's just terribly generic, to the point of not being functional(in my opinion). The washer is too thin and does not have enough "structural" integrity to handle any amount of pressure, even from a flimsy plastic air gap. I actually used another air gap and washer(Home Depot bought) and placed the matte black cap over the top. I bought it for the top so that it would match my faucet, which is partially matte black. While the faucet is Delta and this product is Kohler, the black finish is identical. I rated it 4 stars since I really only needed the top, but the rating could easily have been lower. If a company would make a well designed, rigid air gap I would buy and install it(even if it's good quality plastic). But these don't seem to be available any longer. Since I bought it for the cap, I should note: the cap has a pretty nice finish on the outside; the cap also covers the entire unit at the top of the sink and has a much nicer look than the typical plastic cap. Interestingly, I had to work a bit to get the cap to fit completely over the whole unit, as the better washer made the unit sit just a bit higher. But it did come out looking pretty nice. I would recommend it if you're only going to use the cap, but plan on buying a different, better quality air gap. This really is another example of manufacturers making products that are just barely passable.

I needed to add an air gap for a new dishwasher we needed to have installed - they are required in Calif, and I don't know how this missed the inspection when we bought the house. Anyway, the options at the local hardware stores were these ugly cheap plastic covers that didn't match our faucets. Found this one online, a perfect match for our existing faucets, and the price was very reasonable. Kohler makes good quality products for kitchen and batch, and it shows.

I wanted an air gap with a metal top that went all the way down to the sink (not a plastic lip). This fit the bill and the design matches the rest of the fixtures. It is a standard quality, plastic air gap with a nice metal top that is good looking and easy to clean. If you just want the look, you probably won't have to replace the plastic part, this one fit right onto the one I had in my sink before. I did replace the old one completely with this one and it performs equally well, no leaks and no noisier or quieter than the last one... But it looks nicer and that's why I bought it.
