Measure Sliding Screen Door, Patio Door Screen, Sliding Screen Door Replacement, frame with Upstand

Measuring for your New Patio Screen Door (with Upstand)

If the bottom track has an upstand, measure from the top of that upstand to the top of the door frame (the highest point inside the top pocket). Next, subtract ½ of the top track's depth, and that is the height to order.

No Upstand, how to measure for patio door screen and sliding door screen replacements

Measuring for your New Patio Screen Door (No Upstand)

If there is no upstand, the measurement would be from the top of the bottom pocket (top of the outer leg not down in the pocket) to the top (highest point inside the top pocket). Subtract 5/16 of an inch, and that is the size to order.

Beware of the Thickness in certain installations. My installation would not allow for this door because it is too thick at the top. There is a decorative lip that does not allow it to seat properly in my application. IT'S ALSO REALLY TOUGH TO RETURN THIS ITEM. After 30 minutes on the phone I DID RECEIVE A REFUND. THANK YOU. As for construction, ease of assembly and quality, those were all great. Just won't fit properly, I wish it would, it's a nice door.

The screen door looks great and works very well. Assembly was pretty straight-forward, though keeping the screen material stretched while you roll in the rubber seal is a bit tricky. It could help to have a second set of hands when you do it. Adjusting the rollers is pretty easy, though one of mine was a little bent and getting stuck on the edge of the frame. If you're having trouble with the rollers, make sure the metal bracket that holds the wheel is not getting bound up on the frame of the door itself. My screen door is an oversized/non-standard 93-inches, and if you walk into a retailer (Home Depot/Lowes/etc) they want over $400 for a custom built and pre-assembled screen door. I don't know about you, but that's a LOT of money for a screen door, and we're talking about just the cheap ones that normally cost $100 or less! This option from RitreScreen was not only significantly cheaper, but their customer service is great too! I upgraded the screen material to the PetMesh material, and it seems VERY sturdy. My order had an issue where the screen material that was shipped was too short for the oversized frame, so I reached out directly to RiteScreen and they were very helpful getting me new material. (Thank you so much, Dana!) I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a door, especially if you have a non-standard size like I do.

We had an odd sized screen door so this was perfect. Very sturdy, easy to put together and very accurate. Would definitely recommend.plus being the McGyver that I am I bought to handles at Home Depot One for the inside and one for the outside fit perfectly through the existing screw holes accompany might want to consider having handles that go with us for a few extra dollars cause it only cost me $15. It looks great works much better, but would definitely recommend these doors they’re perfect, just measure correctly and make sure you want a left hand or right hand open

We have a set of french doors in our living room and wanted to be able to have 1 door open when the weather is nice, while keeping the insects out. Our door frame has a track for a screen door, but none at the local stores would fit. After finding RiteScreen on Amazon, watching the assembly video and following their instructions for measuring, measuring 5 times, I placed the order. When the tube arrived, I unpacked and inspected the components. The top and bottom pieces had scratches on them, but overall, it was in pretty good shape. I assembled the frame and tested it out in the door frame. Following the instructions, I adjusted the wheels at the top and bottom. Sure enough, a perfect fit. Whew!! my measuring skills were accurate. Installing the screen material is not complicated, just follow the instructions. We are very happy with the fit. I did however want to let RiteScreen know about the scratches so I followed the instructions for reporting any issues, You must provide pictures within 48 hours of receiving the screen door if you have any issues. I sent photos as instructed on a Friday. First thing Monday morning, I had an email response from Dana at RiteScreen apologizing for the way it arrived and said they would replace the scratched components. Dana also recommended I put the frame together and test the fit so we could make any measurement adjustments on the replacement parts. I had already assembled and installed the screen door and we are not so picky that we can't live with some scratches. I share this experience because the product is exactly as advertised, and the response and level of customer service should be recognized as top notch. I highly recommend RiteScreen if you are looking for a screen door to fit your project. Follow instructions carefully and you will not be disappointed.

I’ve had the door installed for a couple of months now. Once assembled and the screen is installed Most of the door is very good quality. Much stronger than I expected. I did, however, have problems with the size. Once I had the door assembled, it was exactly 1/4 inch too large to fit in my frame. I went back and double check everything on my measurements to make sure that I had given them the correct information. My measurements were exact and the door was just simply a quarter inch too big. I ended up disassembling the door and cutting exactly a quarter inch off of each vertical leg and re-assembling it. Now that the door frame is assembled. the next step is to try to adjust the rollers to get them proper tension. Here’s the weakness with the door. The roller assemblies and particularly the way they adjust tension is not a good design and built very cheap. No matter how much work I put into properly adjusting the rollers. The door still jams and comes off the track when one tries to open it. If you use two hands and hold the bottom and top of the door at the same time you can open and close the door without it coming off the tracks. However, this definitely is not how you want to open and close your patio screen door. I strongly recommend they reassess the roller adjustment function and find a better solution. I’m also very disappointed with the size and that they got the size wrong. That seems like someone just wasn’t paying attention.
