Les filtres K&N ne sont plus à présenter, ils ont déjà une très bonne réputation.Ce filtre à air permet donc de remplacer les filtres papier habituellement utilisés sur nos voitures, par un modèle en tissus.Parmi les avantages, on trouve un meilleur débit d'air, de meilleurs performances, ainsi que la possibilité de nettoyer et re-utiliser le filtre quasiment indéfiniment.Mis dans ma Mazda MX5 NA (Mk1), celui ci se place parfaitement à la place du filtre d'origine dans la boite à air.Le fabriquant nous vente des performances à la hausse et un gain de 1 à 4 cv. Je n'ai pas noté personnellement un changement de comportement particulier, si gain il doit y avoir, il doit être assez subtile. Je note par contre un léger changement de son du moteur. Ça ne fait pas non plus le bruit d'un V8, mais on sent effectivement que ça "respire" mieux. Cela ne vaudra jamais une admission directe, mais c'est un petit "mieux" qu'avec le filtre papier standard.L'entretien du filtre est assez simple, soit avec un produit K&N, soit à l'eau savonneuse. A laisser sécher à l'air libre, il faudra le graisser partiellement pour qu'il soit de nouveau efficace (la graisse est la pour piéger les saletés dans l'air). Annoncé pour avoir une longévité avant entretien de 80.000 km, selon l'utilisation de votre voiture, cela pourra être plus ou moins nécessaire. Pour ma part, avec mes 5000 km maximum par an, principalement l'été, je ne risque pas de devoir le faire de si tôt...L’aspect économique est également discutable selon votre utilisation. Son prix varie entre 35€ et 65€, mais il est plus près des 60€ d'une manière générale. Compter 10€ pour un filtre papier, cela veut dire que pour le rentabiliser, il faudra compter 6 changements. Toujours dans mon cas avec mes 5000 km par an, je change mon filtre tous les 3 ans (et encore, il est quasiment propre), cela veut donc dire que j'aurai rentabilisé les 60€ dans 18 ans...Bien entendu, sur un véhicule utilisé quotidiennement, cela change pas mal de chose.Après, comme on dit, quand on aime on ne compte pas, et j'ai également, comme bcp de possesseur de voiture, plaisir à mettre des pièces de qualités. Ce qui est le cas ici. K&N offrent une garantie de 10 ans/1,6 million de kilomètres, pour autant dire ce filtre durera toute la vie de la voiture.

Exchanged the original paper type filter in my '94 Miata. I've used K&N filters on other cars I've owned and they do a superb job of cleaning the intake air without any flow restriction. I don't have the equipment to determine whether there is any measurable increase in performance - but I can say that the car runs great!.

K&N is great better throttle response for sure.I bought 2 of them for my cars. It performs, save gas ? No. More air more fuel so not better MPG. At least In my case. Great product !

Wish I had bought this years ago. I've been buying replacement disposable paper air filters every year. It dawned on me after doing the math that this air filter pays for itself fairly quickly. You are basically even after about 3 years if you replace your disposable air filter yearly.

This Air Filter really works. It is a great substitute for an expensive Cold Air Intake System. (Cold Air Intakes Systems only work when you partition off the Filter itself and allow cold air to enter the boxed off area.....Anything under the hood is hot) Re. Look at the engine compartment of a Ford Mustang 350 GT. The cold air filter is sectioned off in the front and is insulated from the engine heat. That's why it works..........THIS K&N High Performance Filter did wonders for my Little Mazda Miata 1.6 L. I swear, after I installed it I could actually feel the increase in performance. If I would guess, it added about 20 to 25 HP to my engine. Therefore it went from 115 HP to 140 HP. I was very surprised. No, I have not put it on a Dyno., but I know I'm not far from wrong.
