I ran stock CAI on my Mustang for 9 years. I bought K and N CAI for the brand name only. I am very happy with my purchase. The sound is definitely louder. I felt a huge difference in power and responsiveness in the low torque range. Going up hill was a battle with my old CAI. After putting k and n CAI, I get the power and responsiveness right away. This is without a tune, so imagine, what a tune would do to my Mustang. I am very happy with my purchase.

Nothing about this $400 product screens "quality."This review is based off "MY" purchase and may not reflect others. For a $400 product made to fit my car, I would have liked it to kind of fit. The air box mounting hole didn't line up with the stock box (wasn't even close); I had to drill another hole in the inner fender of my car. That's the only way it would fit right. The aluminum tube wasn't even fully "chromed" where the MAF sensor went, it looked rust brown. There were also flaps of chrome around the hole where the plastic barbed nipple goes that I had to remove before I could screw it in. The plastic cover they give you for the top of the air box is junk. It is made of thin hard plastic that made cracking sounds when trying to get the screws "snug." And the holes for the screws weren't even centered and I almost couldn't get one of the screws in. In the instructions, they keep telling you to "use the provided hardware/screw ," but none of the screws or washers are labeled. They are all in one bag, requiring you to look at the diagram and guessing on what to use.I feel like I over-paid for what I got. I could have bought something a lot cheaper that would do the same thing and saved myself a couple hundred bucks.Don't get me wrong, the product works, and works great. I just feel like K&N could have done a little better. I feel like they cheaped out on certain things that wouldn't cost them any extra to implement.

I realeased I could've gotten it cheaper but I guess it's okay. Money spent already. But bright thing is, it made my car louder but faster on acceleration a bit. It really made a change in power when I programmed it too. It's a great piece to install just check prices first

Purchased this for a friend's 2013 Mustang 3.7L V6. Instillation was straight forward and easy, took about an hour while being busy with other things so probably takes around 30-45 minutes at a decent pace to remove the factory intake and place this one on. Adds a good throttle response and sound, definitely allows the engine to breath better. Good construction and fits the engine bay nicely with a custom look. It's what the Mustang needed to step it up a notch!

I own a 2012 mustang v6 stock... this intake changed the world to me... before my car sounded like a honda accord but now it sound like a mutang V8 stock. Sounds powerfull and i love to accelerate now. I feel more HP although i cant dyno to know exactly how much more it gave me. And if i drive slow (hard with this new sound) i save more fuel economy.

This Cold air intake with the exhaust I put on my 2013 Ford Mustang really woke the car up significantly. It was like she was stuffed up and had a cold once I installed this item the car could breathe again! Great sound increased Horse Power and the look is awesome not like the cheap open top add on that look cheap. This looks great under the hood I would recommend this product wholeheartedly!

K&N delivers again. This is the second K&N performance intake that I've owned and all I can say is they deliver what they promise. Surprisingly the economy on both units was very noticeable with gains of 2-3 mpg.

Bought this for a 2013 V6 Mustang. Equipped with a cold air intake duct from the grill area (in front of the radiator), the Mustang is well-matched to this kit which uses that same intake port for its air source. I selected this cold air kit because it does not have that clumsy open arrangement offered by K & N's competitors which uses weatherstripping to mate the open air filter box to the underside of the hood. I could envision that airbox-to-hood interface leaving worn marks on the hood and hood insulation over time with shredded hood insulation daily falling into the air box and filter. Maybe I'm too fussy.Installation was straight forward, however some fastener holes required enlarging to enable a good mate to other parts. Grab a small rat tail file or Dremel tool. Also one of the band clamps provided with the kit does not match the others - I am a stickler for such things all to match simply for appearance. Probably no one else would notice this minor fault but me. Last, one unused port (for this Mustang) in the aluminum air tube must be plugged, and K & N does provide a plastic pipe plug, but it looks none too sturdy. Unfortunately the welded boss for this port is slightly distorted (perhaps due the welding) and a steel pipe plug will not fit. I may purchase a correct size NPT pipe tap, remove the air tube and clean up these threads so I can install a proper metal pipe plug. Again maybe a bit too fussy.I believe these kits offer HP/torque improvements but only in the upper RPM ranges so I cannot really tell you I experienced an amazing increase in acceleration. The K & N rig does give a marvelous improvement in sound from under the hood when you put your foot into it. While cruising there is no apparent increase in noise from the engine. Also when you pop the hood this kit looks great with its polished aluminum air tube and smooth carbon fiber airbox cover with molded in K & N logo. The OEM filter and plumbing it replaces looked simply ugly. Bad cosmetics there, Ford engineers. In sum a good kit with some minor design flaws. Put it on your list to compare to the others out there. You probably will not be sorry if you choose the K & N.
