My original solonoid burnt up when the crappy button Klein sent with my kit popped apart and stuck open. After replacing the horn button with a heavy duty one from O'Reilly's and installing this replacement solonoid I'm back to scaring the crap out of little cars that cut in front of me!!

Bought after returning a cheaper one that didn’t perform well. Very satisfied so far installed on an air horn and it takes multiple short blasts and also longer ones without hesitation on or off.

Item was not as described. Turned out to be a switch not a valve.

Product has good weight compared to other brands the last one I got from a different company went out in a few weeks I think this one will hold up have not installed yet but the fittings are all the size they say they are will work perfect for dual trumpets.

I think all the bad reviews for this solenoid are because they plumbed it wrong. Most of the descriptions on those reviews are describing exactly what kleinn says in their installation video when you don't put the lines on the right order. The line coming off the side of the solenoid goes to your air tank, the line coming off the end of the solenoid is the one that goes to your horn or whatever you're using it for. If you plumb them backwards it can lead to loss of pressure and inevitable failure to work because the solenoid uses directional air flow. The wires don't matter which gets plugged where, they aren't polarized. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because of the 1/8 female side fitting. It's very difficult to find a 1/8 npt fitting that will actually thread into it. It's like the threads were specifically made for the compression fitting that comes with it, which I wasn't using because I wanted it linked directly to my tank without a line. I did eventually come across a fitting that I was able to grab a few threads to get it started, but I had almost given up. The tolerances were far too tight.

Finally a solenoid that doesn't leak! Tried one from another manufacturer and basically got what i paid for. This one worked with no issues whatsoever. I could tell just by the weight of it that it is more substantial than the cheaper ones.

I ordered this to replace the one that went out after 9 months on my train horn. It came with a different fitting than mine had so i needed to unscrew it and screw my push lock airline fitting in. I was in a hurry to install it and ended up fighting the threads. The body of the valve is extremely soft pot metal and I ended up crossthreading it. This surprised me as I am a diesel mechanic and I do far mor complicated repairs all day every day. I chucked it in the trash and ordered another one. When it came I was extra careful to put the new fitting in and could not get it to thread in. I compared the threads on the two fittings and saw that the port on the valve was cross threaded from the factory and doped up with pipe thread. This product is garbage, I'm out the money for 2 valves and you will never ever see another Pennie of my money for your piss poor crap products. I own a trucking company and have train horns on all of our service trucks. If I could give 0 stars on this review I would.. Try taking a little pride in your product and quit halfassing junk together. I could care less about the $40-$50, You wasted my time twice on a garbage product. Who puts non dot legal fittings on and air horn?
