The package was open and the zip ties that hold the cable from unwinding were cut off and in bag. Looks like it was a returned item but was the right cable and fit the winch fine.

this is after the first day (1 hour of use!) using the plow on my ATV ...it was 5 inches of light snow and it did this! Poor quality

Needed a new cable for my ATV winch. However, my max. cable length is 34ft long and I couldn't find that length available as-is. So, this cable needed to be shortened. The cable end, as supplied, has the strands sort of welded together and slightly ground down. I don't have a welder and solder certainly doesn't work on this cable. So, I tightly clamped the cable between two pieces of soft wood (to hold the strands together) and used a hacksaw to cut through the cable and wood together, at the required point. The end of the cut cable was pretty straight and clean. Just one single wire had to be trimmed off with snips. I confirmed the cable, without any reduction in diameter, would go through the retaining hole in the winch drum. I then applied two-part epoxy glue to the cut end to hold the cut strands together, pressing it into the fibers and wiping it off the outside diameter to avoid a bulge at the end. After curing, the strands were held together nice and solidly and able to be inserted into the winch drum without any problems. The cable retaining grub screw will deform the cable anyway just ahead of the epoxy, so epoxy will work fine for this application.I will see how strong the cable and loop assembly is later this Spring, when I will be clearing wood and junk from my property.

Nice cable replacement for a KFI A3000. Although some mods were needed to make this work. My stock system uses a metric set screw to anchor cable to the drum, for some reason this product came with a crimped on flat tail piece with a hole. So, I had to cut that off and weld up the end to send it thought the drum anchor hole. Also, the hook side came with in unprotected loop crimped on the end, I had to add the internal loop plate shown in the picture as it was NOT included .... only a couple cents, but other buyers should be aware it’s NOT included. Good cable, just DOES NOT COME TO YOU AS PICTURED!!!!! 3 stars for bad product description and wrong photo.**** EDIT *****Upgraded to 4 stars. I have researched the part I was sent and have come to the conclusion it was mistaken packaging. The part number was correct on what I received, but the contents were wrong ... basic human error. Either way, I got it installed without incident.

Bought this after moving into the sticks and realizing I had no recovery gear for smaller vehicles (ATV, Tractor, etc).. I didn't buy it to add to a winch. It will work perfect, and will be added to my recovery bag.. If you need solid cable for anything, this would be perfect.
