Actually, I did not use the supplied water bottle holder, I used the mounting base, and attached my own bottle holder after I had reworked my water bottle holder by drilling a 3/8" hole, 3/4" up from the bottom mounting slot on the water bottle holder, aligning with the hex head bolt on the mounting base. This gives complete access to loosen or tighten the screw that provides the 360 degree rotation. Making it much easier to fit in areas where precise positioning of the water bottle is needed. I have a recumbent trike, where I used this in the front cockpit area, needing to allow room for leg rotation/movement, being able to steer, clear the tires, and within reasonable reach, which meant trial and error to get the exact positioning, having the bolt for rotation accessible was a God's send!! See attached photos.

I thought this would be a good cup holder, especially as it's adjustable. But it's small. Even once you unscrew the bottom to open it up all the way, you can't even put a soda can in it, much less a cup. If you use small water bottles would probably be good for you. I'm sending mine back.

I bought trigger speakers and put the holders on my front mountain while forks. Great sound and the speakers stayed put. Great product. PS. I had to put longer bolts on the brakes to fit around the suspension forks but it worked out great. aBout 2 12 inch long hex head did the job. Take the ones they give you to the hardware store and ask for longer. You won't be sorry. Loved em bought a second pair for my new bike.

This was difficult to install compare to all other handlebar accessories. Took 15-20 minutes. Once it was on my bike it wasn't stable enough to hold my bottle, and to tighten it I had to disassemble the whole thing. I just took it off instead. Returning it and going back to my old one.

This bottle holder works so much better than the one it replaced - sturdy, functional, stays in position - and is a lifesaver. I just ordered a second one so I can double fist while mowing.

I'm on my third cup holder for my new eBike. I went with an all-stainless motorcycle one first go-round. It was big, heavy, and only good for one size (large Yeti/Tervis/Fast food) cups. The second was like a rigid shell cozie that you mounted to handlebars. That one looked better and was lighter but it was hard to cooperate one-handed if the cup was large and rattled around if it was a can. This one is just right. It adjusts to whatever size container I happen to take and you can set it so there is just enough spring to prevent rattling. Also, the funky shape allows you to easily angle the container in with one hand. Just right.
