Old head bearings were worn out. These ones popped right in and were butter smooth. Had to readjust after the first few tricks, but they have been great since.

I decided to try these because they were "Save 10% at checkout", which was already a red flag. They come naked in a thin zip bag, which I guess is fine because sealed bearings don't really get banged up. As I started playing with them, they felt cheap, grindy. I surmised the ball bearings inside must have been tiny, so I opened them up to verify my suspicions. Not only were they tiny, but the retainer was entirely nylon, with hardly any grease. No thanks. I'm sure these could be fine for kids' kick scooters, but I don't want these in my bike's headset. Don't waste yout time with these to repair some old headset. Just go for a complete new headset kit where the ball bearings are bigger with metal retainers that can hold a lot of your favorite grease.
