The cord is a well made cord with heavy duty molded connectors with finger pulls on each end. The jacket is also nice and tough. However, there is an issue. This is not a 50A cord. The cord is marked as having 4 8awg conductors. This would make it a 40A cord, not a 50A. A true 50A cord requires 6awg conductors, not 8awg! It doesn't matter if the plug and socket are rated at 50A IF the wire is not. A cord can only be rated at the level of its least rated component. It is somewhat dishonest to advertise this way. Will this cord work? Yes, most of the time your RV will not be drawing a full 50A, but you are taking a risk here of cord failure or melting if you do draw full amperage. I would only use on RVs that I knew would not be drawing more than 40A.

This cable is very heavy duty but the wiring is 8/4 gauge, not 6/3 + 8/1 as found in typical 50a cords. If you look closely at the listing (as of the time of this writing), they do not indicate the wire gauge anywhere.I would feel safe running up to 40a continuous on this cord, but definitely not 50a since 8 gauge can't handle it continuously (even at 10 feet). I think the price is high for an 8/4 cord, so I would not purchase again at the (current) price of $60.

There have been several times when this well made extension cord would have been VERY useful. Before I got this cord, and I had positioned the camper EXACTLY where I wanted it, I would realize that my 50 amp power cord wouldn’t reach the power pedestal. A few more feet would be all I needed. So I would have to get back into the truck and relocate so I could use the air conditioning and watch the tv after I got plugged in. NO MORE! This extension cord gives me ten feet more flexibility to position in the site if needed. The quality is great, the plug ends are molded into the handles. And they included a carrying handle that keeps the cord together and easy to move.

My wife and I have a 50 Amp travel trailer we store and use at an RV resort. The electrical cable that came with the RV is pretty long while the power pedestal is only about five feet away. I was looking for for a shorter cable when I saw this one.The Kanayu 10 foot 50 Amp RV extension cord is exactly what UI was looking for. This cable is very heavy duty having a NEMA 14-50P plug to plug in to the pedestal and a NEMA 14-50R female plug on the other end. This is a perfect length for mu needs but also in the event I need it to be an extension cord. One nice feature is both ends have grip handles making it much easier to plug and unplug. If you're in the market for an very nice RV extension cord this one deserves your consideration.

This 50-amp extension cord is a perfect fit for our fifth wheel, which we always seem to park about 5 feet too far from the power station. It's quality and comes with a strap for carrying it.

I got this cord for my new fifth wheel RV. My RV only came with a standard 10 foot cord, so having this has really helped extend the reach of my power cords. I like that this can connect right into my existing cord. I also love that it has very big handles which is helpful when connecting and disconnecting these cords. This cord is pretty heavy but it comes with a carrying handle which makes it very easy to transport and store. The cord has been connecting well and I like that it stays plugged in and doesn't ever come loose.

So when I first saw this I ordered before I knew exactly what I would be getting. This is labeled as an extension and says it is for 50 amp. At 50 amps, the typical size cable is 6 gauge. I did not see that mentioned anywhere so I asked Rufus and Rufus did not know the wire gauge either. So I ordered anyway. After it arrived, I see on the cable that this is 8 gauge wire. 8 gauge wire is typically good for 40 amps, not 50. You can get by with it for a short distance and a short time, but remember this is advertised as an "extension" meaning it will be used in conjunction with another cable. This makes the cable as a whole much longer than 3 feet.My plans were to use this as a kind of sacrificial cable at the power pole because so many campgrounds do not keep their receptacles in proper working order. They become dirty and worn and are not tended to until a problem shows up and they have to address it. So if I were to have something that melted as a result of campground negligence, it would be this. But since I am using this with a longer cable, and for an entire time that I am at a camp site, that makes the gauge of cable this is made of too small for comfort.I am not happy with this to use as I had intended and I really do not have any other use for it. If it were made of 6 gauge cable, I would be very happy with it.Other than the size of wire, this looks well made. But it is what you can not see that matters. If your camper does not use that much power, then this may be ok for you. But I would still keep an eye on this and if I began having electrical problems, this would be the first thing I would suspect.
