For those who are kinda protective about dust around their Ricoh, here's something that seems to work. It's a beautiful metal cap (snug-fitting with "GR" on it), and I could just learn to take the cap off before starting the camera, then I would be happy. As it is, it drops to the floor and rolls around W-A-Y under the desk. I'll get it figured out eventually. (It's my fault, not this manufacturer.)

I have two of these. Got one for my GRIIIx, then another when I added a GRIII a year later. They are well made, and stay on nicely. I feel like they protect the lens housing well. They do seem a bit overpriced for a small metal disk with some thin felt backing, but in spite of this I liked my first one enough to buy again.

The lens cap fits well even if you have a non removable UV filter that adheres to the lens rim. Definitely recommended to protect the lens blades that are fragile.

Great fit and feels snug. If you do turn on the camera and don't take the cap off you will get a lens error.The lens won't pop the cap off on its own . It does stick out a little from the bottom so the camera never actually sits flush but its whatever as long as peanuts keep growing in the new world.

Fits snugly and has cushioned resistance when putting in and taking off. Has GR in top. Keeps dust out of lens area.Just dont turn on the camera accidentally with this cap on, which is possible, as it should be removed before turning on, since the lens does move out a bit when turning on camera.

It's a very simple product flawlessly executed. The friction fit is secure so you don't have to worry about losing the cap, but it does prevent the lens from extending when you forget to remove it before powering up the camera. Having done this several times, the camera seems no worse for wear, and I quickly got in the habit of removing it first.The only question is how long the perfect fit will last, as the foam rubber will surely compress over time, leading to a loose grip. It's cheap enough that replacing it won't be too much of a financial burden.

Good quality so far. Looks the same as a canon lens cover. Plastic feels a bit different but overall no issues at all. Traditionally the fake ones paint wears over time. I’ll update if this is the case.
