It is the thin slick tape. There are different thickness. Make sure you want the thin if you order this. Works and stays put great!

I stuck one on my thumb where the ball was rubbing and it fixed the problem. No sore thumb. It stays on really well.

These patches are wonderful! They are made of a very thin - yet strong - material that does not affect your thumb/finger fit in the slug/grip inserts. This ensures adequate skin protection.The surface finish is also great, easing the release without having the sensation of loosing proper grip of the ball.Last but not least... the adhesive is strong, so the patch stays in place even for long bowling sessions.

I had ordered a different brand and it often came loose by third game leaving me to apply a new one. These don't move! It's also a good thickness. Will definitely keep reordering!

My daughter was using tape inside the thumb hole of her ball which was not comfortable for her. Going from cold outside to bowing would cause her fingers to swell a little. She would have to take the tape out as she bowled because after a game or so the tape inside would become to much. This tape has eliminated her need for doing that and made it easier for her. She puts a piece of tape on her thumb and if she has any swelling she just simply removes the tape from her thumb, no more fighting to get the tape out of the ball.
