About this item

  • INFLATION ADAPTOR - DAN-FENDER Inflation Adaptor can be used on most DAN-FENDER products except for the Light Fenders and the soft, inflatable mini-buoys. If you don’t have access to an air-compressor with air-blowing-pistol, then the DAN-FENDER adaptor is a great alternative for easy inflation with either a hand, foot or car pump.
  • WHAT’S INCLUDED - Each kit comes with one inflation adaptor, one spare valve, one valve plug and one 3mm screw to help remove the old valve.
  • HOW TO USE - Use the adaptor as screwdriver to remove the valve-plug/protector, then screw in the adaptor until it tightens. Various models of inflation “nozzles” and pumps can be used to attach to the adaptor, but please note - do not over-inflate the fender/buoy and stay within the designed measurements. Once inflated, screw back in the valve-plug/protector again until it tightens.
  • VALVE REPLACEMENT - DAN-FENDER small and medium buoys & fenders utilize high quality metal valve systems. If a valve should be leaking or by incorrect inflation pushed into the fender/buoy, then it can easily be replaced with a new valve! Replacement can be acquired with the inflation adaptor kit, along with the adaptor, valve plug and 3mm screw.
  • HOW TO REPLACE - To remove, screw in a 3mm screw inside the center of the valve and pull it out with a tong or set of pliers. To install the new valve, push in (with a screwdriver) the new valve into the original position as the old. Reinflate the buoy or fender again.

The inflatable fender that this is supposedly needed to inflate does not disclose the need for a special tool to inflate. Either this tool or a special pump are needed, but not both. Very confusing.

I wish this would have been suggested when purchasing the fender. Works great.

This part is NOT optional. Only way to inflate the fender step!
