When I initially purchased this, Amazon showed it would fit my 2009 Jeep JK 2-door. However, after I received it I had problems getting it to work for me. After going back to the listing, Amazon now shows this will not fit my Jeep. I had to use a bunch of washers to get this to work on my Jeep.Since then, I've replaced my rear bumper comes with a tire mount. I ordered a plate for my tailgate, so this should work on the plate since it's flat.If Amazon had shown it would not fit my Jeep when I had purchased it, I would have looked elsewhere for the one that does fit my Jeep.

If you have no spare for this is perfect. I run with my spare so it sits twisted against spare tire bracket.

First attempt to install this thing the oval openings for the bolts bent. This put the antenna at a weird angle touching my spare tire. Didn’t like that at all. Took it back apart, straightened the bolt holes (thin metal, maybe too thin), used some washers and a little longer bolt and re-installed. Antenna was straight as an arrow after that. I was surprised that this was the one that I ordered because I didn’t like the oval holes. Had that not worked I would have chucked this one in the garbage. Don’t forget to scuff the underside of the plate before installation so that you have a better ground connection with your antenna. You can hit it with some paint or dielectric grease after the antenna installation to the bracket if you live in the rust belt. But you won’t get a good connection and your output will suffer if you don’t. This is an ok product, but it could be a lot better. I liked the option to mount two antenna, one VHF, one 10m since hood mounts aren’t my thing. This keeps everything clean, organized and out of the way.
