I have mixed feeling about this ice bath tub. One one hand, for what it is supposed to do, it will do the job, and is a good value and will not break your bank and it is portable. On the other hand, it feels like it could have been done a bit better (but at what additional costs?) The bath is made of a sturdy vinyl and is supported by pvc rods that go through sleeves in the double layer vinyl. It seems sturdy enough without water (have not filled it up yet), but I would probably be careful when using it as, it does not seem like it would take much to put a rip into it. It states that it is insulated, but other than several layers of vinyl, there is not a thick insulation material between the vinyl. There were no instructions, but it was easy enough to figure out - stick the rods through the slots. There were rods with rounded ends and rods with flat ends, apparently they have the same purpose. There is a drain hole in the bottom and in the side. The upper edge of the tub blows up to help keep it round and from collapsing until the water fills it out. The "cover" looks a lot better in the listing picture, and the listing actually says it is insulated. In real life, it is hard to blow up to make it completely round and in no way is the middle puffy to add any sort of insulation to keep the water iced. It is just one layer of thick vinyl, which I suppose is insulation and better than nothing. If an improvement could be made here, it would be to make the top insulated with a thicker material. The cover is essentially just a nylon fabric that cinches down over the top of the tub with a drawstring. The tub is not very tall. I am a short woman and could easily fit in and get completely covered squatting. A large man would be pretty cramped. A tall, thin man would fit and get covered if they were to scrunch down an sit on the bottom. If you are on the chunky side, I would rethink this as an option. So., Pluses are that this is a step up from your bathtub with big ice blocks in it because you could probably keep this insulated and the water stay iced for longer than your tub. It can be set outside or somewhere near your hot tub or sauna, very easily portable to where you need it. It is pretty inexpensive. Bad side is that it is on the small side and how long it holds up is still to be determined. I will update the review if I feel it breaks faster than I think the value warrants.
