For the price, it is Ok, but the main scree is made of a very soft alloy, not hardened at all.

You get what you pay for when it comes to tools. I got this for removing only one bearing on my table saw motor aperture. There is a lot of play in the components since it has basic construction and only two arms instead of a typical three.I wouldn't rely on this to consistently get the job done but it is handy to have around if you only need it every once in a while.

I purchased this gear puller for a very specific task. I had to remove a crank arm frozen onto an axle on my elliptical exercise machine. The jaws of the gear puller tended to slip off of the crank arm, so I used a c-clamp to squeeze the jaws onto the crank. As I turned the screw the device tended to lean to the side, so I had to realign everything and start over several times. The jaws slide loosely along the top crossbar making it difficult to keep the device aligned. I was about ready to give up when the crank finally popped off of the axle. It worked! The pointed end of the screw was smashed flat. I am pleased that I did not spend much money on this tool. Chances are that I will never use it again. If you are looking for a high quality gear puller that you will use more than once, look elsewhere.

It is not a precision tool but it works fine pulling small bearings. I could not get it to pull a sleeve off a shaft it will not dig in enough
