This 3-inch boat blower moves a ton of air and keeps my engine bay cool. Installation was straightforward, and the 10000RPM motor delivers consistent performance. Perfect for anyone needing dependable ventilation on a yacht or caravan.

This little fan moves a ton of air, yet takes up little space and consumes surprisingly little power.I used this to replace a failing engine compartment vent fan on my sailboat. I was concerned when the product arrived and I saw how small the box was. Looking inside, the tiny 24 gauge power wires seemed wrong for what is usually a power-hungry device. Once mounted though, I was quickly convinced that this device moves a lot of air with very little power. It works well to remove hot air from the engine compartment that heats up fast in the tropical Florida environment. The fan housing is made of nicely painted metal which should withstand a salty sea environment. The IP44 rating should allow some minor wetness, but not if exposed to an unprotected outdoor environment that an IP65 device might endure. The mounting bracket has a single screw for mounting to a bulkhead and the fan housing rests in the plastic coated spring clamps. I added a zip tie to ensure it can't jump out of the clamps in rough seas.I liked it so much that I purchased a second unit to work as a pusher fan to compliment the original exhaust fan. So I am very confident now that these units will work together to keep diesel engine, lithium batteries, and hard-working alternator cool and performing at their best.

This fan moves a considerable amount of air. It is not very quiet, but it is to be expected when moving a lot of air through a small space. It is very easy to install using the included bracket (too bad they left the bottom part of the bracket without plastic coating to protect against corrosion). This fan is easy to use and doesn't seem to need a lot of power (judging from the thin wires). It is priced a little high at $30. They even included a little manual. The fan is not replaceable or serviceable.

It is alot smaller than I expected, It is about 5 inch long.It spins really fast and LOUD!The wind is quite strong. It is claimed to run at 10,000 RPM which is very high for the tiny motor, I hope the bearings will last.It uses less than 10 W of power. It is made with ABS so it can handle temperature up to 180F/82CThe price is quite high for what you get.

Hon&Guan Boat Blower Fan 3 Inch, 12V Inline Boat Blower Motor Fan, 10000RPM, Durable Marine Bilge Blower 130CFM, Engine Blower, Marine Cabin Engine Ventilation, Perfect for Yacht, CaravanHon&Guan Boat Blower Fan 3 Inch, 12V Inline Boat Blower Motor Fan, 10000RPM, Durable Marine Bilge Blower 130CFM, Engine Blower, Marine Cabin Engine Ventilation, Perfect for Yacht, CaravanIf you are going to use this for a bilge blower then great. This blower moves a lot of air and looks well built. It has a mount so that you can remove it if needed. The blower housing measures just under 3” and it has a nice grate on the intake end. I’ll be using mine for a different purpose because I need to ventilate a room occasionally, and the power available at that site is only 12 volt DC. It isn’t terribly loud but does make some noise. Again, for a bilge, or engine compartment blower it is perfect. It’s also perfect for off grid applications where you need to move a lot of air with 12 volt power. I think you could shop bilge blowers and find a better price, but this one has an all metal housing, and the cheaper ones are usually plastic. I’m happy with this purchase.

We live on our 52' boat 100% of the time and travel and at anchor 99.99% of the time. We use diesel heaters with 3" venting for heating the boat in winter and I ordered this fan to install in the heaters hot air output to increase the air flow into the longer ducts of the vessel. The dimensions of this duct fan are all as stated and it fits a 3" vent pipe perfectly. The fan comes with a wired guard at one end that can be easily slipped off to install a vent pipe there instead if needed. I haven't installed this duct fan yet but will soon. I've tested it on the bench and am very impressed with the amount of air flow it can provide with little electricity. I am going to install it with a dimmer to control the fan speed so that when the heater is on low I can reduce the amount of air that this pushes so as not to be cooling the air too much. It pushes so much air that I might even set the dimmer lower than full blast while the diesel heater is on high. I'll experiment with that after I have installed it.I've included below a table of the current draw that I measured at the different input voltages from low speed at 5v to high speed at 13v. As you can see, the manufacturers stated current draw specification is right on, which is great for any low current draw venting requirement.5v @ .3A = 1.5W6v @ .37A = 2.2W7v @ .43A = 3W8v @ .52A = 4.2W9v @ .61A = 5.5W10v @ .71A = 7.1W11v @ .8A = 8.7W12v @ .89A = 10.75W13v @ .96A = 12.5WThe only concern that I have is whether this vent fan will last very long in the heater application that I'll be using it in. I've measured the temperature of the diesel heater air and it's way up at 130 degrees F where I would install the fan. That high temp might prematurely dry out the bearings but I'll install it and report my findings by editing this review when I have them. For normal venting service this is an excellent fan and I can highly recommend it.all the bestdr
