I like gizmos like this sundial, but this one is very cheesy. The "aging" on the device is very slapdash and looks terrible. The case is paper-thin and probably won't last very long.

For the price, this sundial compass is very well made and decorated. I like that real brass and copper were used, as well as real leather for the case. Also, very importantly, the sundial produces an accurate time of day. There are a couple things that could be improved upon, however: 1. an instruction manual should be included; and 2. the brand name on the gift box is different than the “manufacturer” name on the compass, which is confusing.

So many beautiful things about this - the presentation box with magnetic closure, the leather (?) round case it comes in, and the item itself. Very steampunk, I think? At first I thought the compass was broken, but there's a knob that you can tighten down to keep the dial stationary (while shipping, for example) and I didn't find it at first - if you hold this with the hinge at 12:00 the knob that loosens the compass dial is at 8:00. This also comes with a nice 'card' for gifting. Love this!!!

I bought this for myself, but I think it would be really great for a gift. My favorite parts were the authentic materials used came in a real leather case and I had brass and copper. It seems pretty well-made, and it works well. It does appear handcrafted, and most importantly, it was accurate.

This is a really nice looking sundial compass. It feels quite solid and although I don't yet know how to use it, all the parts appear to be functioning perfectly. The box it comes in is pretty nice and has a custom gift card you can sign if you're giving it away. Inside the box it is kept in a leather container that looks ok from a distance but pretty cheap up close. I'll be displaying it without the leather container.
