Keep them in your car, by the front door, in your pockets. My wife loves them.

Along with some aluminum emergency whistles, I got this Glow in The Dark Pepper Spray for some female friends as well as for some friends who were going camping. I actually tried the sprayer to be sure it functioned according to spec. It did function as advertised, but being 77 years old, I had some difficulty with the twist-to-release top, ensuring the sprayer was in the firing position. Once in the firing position, it worked fine. I recommend this pepper sprayer with the caveat that the person using it be famliar with the cap position for the sprayer to be effective

Great size pepper spray for your purse or pocket. I like having one on hand for walking across a parking lot at night, and I keep one in my apron at our estate sales.

I live in a major city and my daughter has to take the subway to school and my wife walks 30 minutes to get to work, half the year in the dark. I am always leery about them being on their own without protection. The Guard Dog pepper spray gives me a little more comfort. The first thing I noticed was that the cans were smaller then I thought they would be. Not a big issue for me since I want them to be easy to get in a pocket for easy access. The safety nozzle turns easily and I will have to see if it accidentally opens in a pocket or purse.I shot a test spray just to see how it worked. Not directly at anyone but close enough that my eyes were stinging. I don't doubt that it will give someone pause if you hit them with a good stream in the face. I don't know how many shots you can get out of each can and, with the size of them, I don't want to waste a can to find out. I will have to update this review later on once I know. Hopefully that takes a long time!Overall, I am happy with the spray. It works and the size is perfect for what I needed it for. It is also a great value getting 12 cans for about $3 each.

Was surprised when I got these, because I already have a few cans of Guard Dog, and was expecting the same size. Thought the price was a little low to be getting 12 of those, but stranger things have happened. So, They're teeny-tiny little cans. I think this is both, a major pro, and a major con. Super portable, being that small. They're smaller than most keychain cans. The drawback, is that if you're faced with multiple attackers, and/or multiple attacks, you may run out of gas after the first one. So, I would keep an extra or two ready. I should do a test to see how many sprays I get. I may just do that, since there are 12 of them, and I can afford to burn one. So I may do that and come back to let you know. They're the smallest cans I've ever seen, so I'm only counting on them to neutralize one, maybe two attackers. And when I say "neutralize", I don't really mean that. I always recommend pepper spray as a preemptive strike followed up with something else. Please never count on just the pepper spray ending a bad situation if you have no other weapons or skills. I've been on both ends of some powerful sprays, and I can tell you that it doesn't neutralize anyone. Some people will run away from it, but if someone is bent on hurting you, pepper spray will not stop them. It will simply impair them a little. It's also a two-edged sword, because 99% of the time, you will also suffer some of the effects, either from it being in the air, or on your fingers, or wrestling around with your attacker. You will almost always breathe some in, or get it on yiur skin and/or eyes. So, be orepared for that, and do what you can to protect your eyes/nose/mouth when using it. And follow up with another attack with something else, immediately after using. One gripe I have, is the trigger mechanism. Their bigger cans have a better method of spray, where you slide yiur finger in between the button and a protective cover. This is one of the ones you turn from the side to the right position. I don't like that method, because the button usually moves around, may discharge on accident, and may be hard(er) to disharge in a stressful situation. Especially since you don't know exactly what postion the button will be in, when you grab it from your pocket or bag. The method I like is probably not an option with this small of a can.Not deal breakers; just things to keep in mind. I think the price to can ratio is pretty awesome, though, at about 3 dollars a serving. I think most would be pleased with this deal, as long as they know it's a small can, with the side turning lock/trigger mechanism.
