Bought it elsewhere for my RS6 and just wanted to confirm another reviewers comments that this thing is super noisy in cold weather. Once the car warms up, it is just fine.

I'll keep it short & sweet. These timing belts are definitely reinforced, and the quality is not in question.BUT: at cold start, they are extremely noisy. So much so, that I am glad I didn't install one of these on a customer's car.I used one of my personal vehicles - a 2000 Passat ATQ 2.8 V6 as the "beta tester".I am very very bummed out at how obnoxiously loud it is at a cold start. The noise does initially diminish, but was so bad that I tore it all back apart to confirm something wasn't out of place.I would recommend a genuine VW / Audi belt instead of this, unless you need the extra protection in a modified 2.7T S4 / A6 / Allroad, etc.

The quality is apparent the moment you touch it. Compared to the OEM belt it's a bit shorter. Had to reindex the cam sprockets more than expected. Essentially it will try to advance the cam timing, by what I would guess to be in the 2-4* range. This is significant.I have 2 more of these belts to install on Audi V8's (RS6's) plus a V6. See how those turn out. Be sure to get the special VW/Audi cam sprocket toolset to resync the cams if using this belt.

I'm writing 5 star because one of the newly changed rollers has failed and started to shake (with huge amount of amplitude) the belt. Even an engine was shaking much like misfiring 2 cylinders.This belt withstand revs 6000+ rpm in this mode for a very prolonged period (around 200 kilometers). I'm sure a normal belt would fail immediately.I want to thank Gates for quality product!

This belt doesn't have the flexibility like the OEM one, so it causes an audible squeak from the engine bay until the car is warmed up. Its embarrassing. Just go with the OEM belt.

Better than i needed but at tis price and being able to get it via prime it was a must have.

Came to Amazon for this one, as they had the best price on thie belt online. Used it for my Audi 2.7tt engine as they are prone to have timing belt failures. Getting a reinforced one makes me feel like i have more insurance with the car now.
