Finally found the correct replacement timing belts! These fit 100% on my GL1000. Gates has been around for many years, so I trust them with my parts. These belts are an exact fit for the '78 GL (maybe others) and installed with zero issues. Bike timed correctly and runs like a Top. CHANGE YOUR BELTS before they leave you stranded!

Belt is stamped made in USA. The belt looks just like the OEM belt but doesn't feel as well built as the one I pulled off the car. The original belt feels heavier but it might just be in my head. The factory belt is an Unitta which I believe that company has something to do with Gates. The belt installed without an issue and looked good when turning the motor over by hand.
