Once it finally arrived it fit my 2006 recon 250 perfectly. Made the rear much stiffer and there is still plenty of adjustment left. No more sag seams to be of very good quality.

most Honda RECON s are designed for a 150lbs rider. they will be a soft ride for a 200lbs+ rider and a squishy waverider with 2 people. or (lawn/farm equip on rear).this shock eliminated those limitations: it is preload adjustable and easy access to do so.it rises the back about 1" and adds about 1/2" travel over stock shock.TIPS: set preload to lowest spring tension and work your way up after riding it.....it can be a little stiff from the factory setting (spanners rings come set in the middle).INSTALL: use a hy-lift type jack on the back ATV rack to take the load of factory shock. this takes the pressure off the shock bolts for easy removal. OR you can just have a friend lift up pon the rear rack to reduce load too.THE BOTTOM SHOCK BOLT has a wrench/socket pass thru/access hole in the swingarm for easy bolt removal (nice design detail HONDA!).this is a 10min job, 2 bolts and every thing is acessable (tho my recon had the airbox removed and that really helped access to top bolt). 14MM socket and wrench for everything.......a blind monkey could do this job!
