About Gabriel

Starting in 1907, Gabriel invented the original shock absorber, followed by the first hydraulic shock absorber, the first adjustable shock absorber and the first air adjustable shock absorber. And today, it's still that same innovative, independent American company--building high-performance shocks and struts that cover over 96% of North American vehicles. Gabriel continues adding new product coverage, including expanding their line of ReadyMount strut assemblies, which make installation faster, safer and easier. And Gabriel continues that independent spirit, working hard to deliver innovative new products and services, every day.

Can clearly see in the pics that these do not match the OEM on my 2010 Ranger 2wd regular cabWe managed to get them installed by jacking up the lower control arm. While these shocks do hold the road, the ride is stiff and bouncy as heck. All shock, no absorb. You feel every bump. Now, after 6 months and low 3k miles of use (endurance, really). i am replacing them with the KYBs for double the price, which is still half the price of the bilstein 4600.i also put the rear version of these which seem ok

Beside not getting a 6 pack of shocks the shock is what i needed and did work i needed 2 but can get by on the 1. If the listing didnt have the error it would have been 5 stars shipping was fast and the shock itself was correct.

Why bother

They were cheap, and easy to install on my 20 year old Sierra. They felt a bit light duty, but my c2500 already has tough leaf springs, and I don't need the ride any stiffer. Had them on for a year, and like the ride.

These shocks are perfect on my 2009 Ford Ranger. I've had some installed on the front end for over a year now and I just replaced the rear with these. They have improved the trucks handling going over bumps and in corners greatly. I couldn't be happier with them. They perform very well, hit a bump, one short bounce, and they quickly snap the suspension back to it's original position. This makes driving my Ranger more fun as well as SAFER! These shocks perform, and are priced well. I strongly recommend them.

My mechanic put these on zippity bang today. Took longer to take off the old ones due to rust. Made the rear end of my 97 Jeep ZJ ride much better. Sure go ahead and spend $60 some at Sears for the same danged thing for a single absorber. Look online if you don't believe me. Amazon beats them hands down. I'll come back in a few months and let you know if there are any cons. So far only pros for these. They look and feel about the same as the original shocks I took off the rear. So far very happy. I thought I had ordered the front ones and needed these rear ones anyway so I just kept them and had them put on the rear instead. My mechanic told me they fit the rear NOT the front like I thought. Duh! That's why I have a mechanic do this stuff for my car. Didn't look all that hard to install and he removed the old ones and put the new ones on in about an hour give or take. No biggie. Now I have to buy 2 new tires for the front after I get the front Gabrial shocks I just ordered. The ride should improve quite a bit as well. Cupped tires are dangerous and make for a very bumpy ride. Ugh! Nice Jeep, crappy ride until I put new shocks all around on. Just putting new ones on the rear sure made a LOT of difference. Can hardly wait until I get the fronts on as well. Should ride like a new Jeep for sure. I decided on Gabriel vs. Monro after consulting with some mechanic buddies of mine. They said Monro is nice if you like to keep replacing them every other jerk. Bought Jeep a month ago and fixing up for winter and seeing as how I have this 97 fixed up and intend to keep for awhile why put on some inferior shocks? I may not know front from rear shocks but I am not foolish with my money nosirrreeebob.
