Averages to 3. Bolt is wonderful. Beautiful gold plated titanium. Weighs only 5g. Top cap weighs 3g. Reason carbon top cap gets 1 star is it can't hold the proper torque. This was causing me all kinds of problems with my headset. I was getting a lot of play, and I couldn't figure out why. My spacers rotated easily. Not a good sign. Something was off with the compression through the head tube. I torqued the bolt to the proper 4Nm spec called for by Trek (2019 Trek Emonda ALR5). But there was still play. It was super annoying. No matter how many times I adjusted my headset bearings and crown race, at best I still had a little play! It was driving me nuts! So after a couple of months dealing with this nuisance today I installed the original Trek alloy top cap torqued to 4Nm, and wouldn't you know, the play is gone! Carbon top cap was no good. It couldn't provide the proper pressure for the steerer tube bolt to torque properly into the expander plug even at the 4Nm. Too much play in the carbon material. The m6x35 gold bolt looks good against the black alloy Trek top cap. It would be nice if it were a hex head though instead of a torx head. That's my only gripe with the bolt. Makes me have to carry an extra tool just for that bolt.

Much nicer than expected. Looks great on my bike and matches the other titanium bolts on my stem....hate sweat rust...
