The door is made of thick aluminum alloy. I bought it several months ago and just installed it. The access panel of the tail light has to be removed with a small screw driver and the tail light requires a small wrench. The body of the assembly requires a long screw driver to press the snap tabs that hold it in place.The key to the installation is viewing the video provided by Amazon. It takes a bit of patience and understanding of the design.The assembly appears to be strong and the finish is very good.

Easy to install for anyone somewhat mechanically minded. Just look at a video and you can do it. Took less than 30 minutes. Gas cap retainer is a little tight but works. Lock is good. Worked fine even in winter with below zero temps. Key can be removed in unlocked position if desired.

Very glad to no longer have a vulnerable gas cap! Locking fuel filler door was easy to install and looks great on my Jeep.

This is a pretty nice gas cap it fit great was easy to install. I bought it for my wife she wanted it because of the American flag on it. The flag is actually a sticker you have to put on. The sticker does not stick to the gas cap whatsoever. After installing the gas cap we put the sticker on wipe the cap down with rubbing alcohol first so it would have a good stick. And the sticker fell off maybe an hour later. I also got one for my Jeep but it was a different brand I got a star and it was actually painted onto the gas cap.

I just installed this cap, the rubber gasket absolutely does not fit, leaves a giant gap.I'll leave it for now, but plan to order a different one.
