I was not looking forward to re-staining my deck until I saw this large brush. Worked like a charm. Finished the deck in half the time it normally would. Highly recommend

Every once in awhile you buy tool that you can't imagine doing without once you purchase it-this is one of those tools. We had a large deck 8X50' spanning two side of our house. It has taken days to stain this monster in the past. This year I considered buy a sprayer then saw this. It solved many of the problems I had: coverage and getting the stain into the cracks between the boards at a every afforble price. Brush is a dream to use. I used a handle from an old paint roller and I was in business. The job usally takes three days but it was done in less that a day! The brush held up well and still looks new, with no shedding of bristles, and cleaned up easily. I wished I had bought two of them, I husband and I had to take turns this it, otherwise we could have finished the job much sooner.

I found this brush to be a much better method for staining my deck than spraying. After sanding off a layer of deck paint with a floor sander and using wood brightener, this was a pretty easy way to finish my deck project.I poured my stain into a 5 gallon bucket, attached my push broom's handle to the brush, and started staining. The brush held enough stain to cover 2 board widths to between 2 and 3 feet per dip. Since my deck was freshly sanded, the first coat took longer and was absorbed more by the wood, but this brush was perfect for the job.The 2nd coat used much less stain and I was able to cover about 5 board widths up to 2 or 3 feet per dip. Had plenty of stain left over after the 2nd coat.Overall, it took me about an hour to do both coats (with 20 minutes of dry time between coats) on a 15x25 ft deck. I feel like the brush covered the deck very well with stain.I'll definitely use this again the next time I need to stain my deck.

I consider this a one-time-use convenience product. Like, don't bother to clean and save it (though I guess you could). I did two coats on my 425 sq ft weathered deck with about 2.5 hours of labor and used only 2.5 gallons of stain and still had some left over. And I didn't break my back. The brush is wider than standard deck boars and the bristles are long and flexible. With one pass you coat the deck board, plus the vertical edges of the board and the two adjacent boards. Fantastic. For that alone it's worth it. It took less time to stain the deck and less work than any other method i've used (4th staining of this deck in 11 years). This brush is by far the best deck stain tool I've ever used. It was the cost of a gallon of stain. The savings in stain paid for it. The time and effort saved are priceless. Especially as I get older this is so so worth it to save my back.

Expensive but really well. Tried bushes, rollers, pads and even sprayers but found that this on the end of a broom handle was the easiest to use, provided the most control and allowed me to really focus where the stain would go (between boards, in knots etc) unlike a pad. Very easy to clean and much easier on the back compared with other types of applicators.
