Awful. This does not work as a museum putty which is used to hold items (e.g. wall hangings) in place in event of earthquake. Avoid!

I have been using museum putty for a long time now but gave this craft wax a try as it's much cheaper and more convenient in a small jar. Comparing side by side, this craft wax isn't as tacky/sturdy as museum putty but does a decent job holding plant pots and heavier delicate items on surfaces to prevent kids and cats from knocking them over. I wouldn't use this stuff on more valuable items as it doesn't have as good of a grip though. It's a good price point for a lot of craft wax.

This stuff is really sticky, but forms into balls quite well between your fingers, and once you stick something down, it doesn’t move unless you really want it to - vibrations from my stereo will no longer cause my ceramics to rattle on the shelves. Can be a little tedious to clean up, but does the job!

I'm on the road a lot with work and long ago I decided to collect beer glasses as a memento of my travels. After 20+ years I now have a display cabinet choc-o-block full of them. The cabinet is about 3 glasses past comfortable capacity, but my traveling days are over. What that means is I don't want to get a new cabinet, but daily vibration on the floor causes the glasses to migrate on the glass shelves and over time they start to rattle. This wax is exactly the cure for what ails them! I use a toothpick to scape out a little bit of wax and loosely ball it up, then stick it to the bottom of the glass. One dot in the center might do, but I put 3 little dots around the perimeter of the base, not much, perhaps the size of 1/2 grain of rice per dot. Once put back on the shelf I just let the weight of the glass do it's work. If I push the glass on too hard it will be too hard to get it off again to clean it and I risk breaking it, or other glasses. I'm really happy with this, the glass cabinet has now been silenced for good!
