Had to remove and go with the 4 piece gasket set so it wouldn’t leak oil. Leaked at the curved/bearing areas

Don’t buy the Fel-Pro equivalent to this gasket it’s too soft and will leak guaranteed this gasket is more firm and does not leak it’s the best. After trying to of the blue file pros I couldn’t remember which one I used when I originally built this engine but it was this Ford performance gasket just make sure you dab a very small amount of our rTV where are the corners of the main caps come together with the gasket and I mean a small amount and make sure it’s the last thing you do before you put this thing up because it will cause a leak if it dries at all before you button this up I used long bolts to get this lined up. Then put the RTV on those corners on the main cops then slide this right out with your pan and then you can put in a couple of the smaller bolts take the large ones out put your pan factory Long strips of metal on the pan to keep the tension even and put in the rest of the factory bolts I highly recommend t torquing these bolts so you do not overtighten them I used a quarter inch ratchet with an extension and just use that for hand tight guaranteeing I would not overtighten them and just do crisscross patterns the four corners where you put the RTV the bolts are a slightly bigger size but still be careful not to over tighten them after my first couple of runs with the car I always check the bolts and just make sure they’re all still evenly snug and wallah no more leaks the only thing I ever see is like a small seep from those peskyCorners where you put the RTV where the main caps are but I mean a very small seap. Not even enough to leave a drip on the floor these engines are pretty much impossible to make absolutely dry like the modern engines of today because of paper gaskets things like that they’re just not made to exact tolerances like the engines of today but the blue Fel-Pro gasket is ridiculously soft and it does not hold its form and kind of blows out it doesn’t stay nearly as well as this Motorcraft gasket which is more of like a firm rubber versus excuse the expression a rubber dildo like the blue fellpro junk. The only thing I will say that’s fantastic about the Fel-Pro there’s those silly little screw and plug that they gave you to put the gasket on two and then slide the pan up because it helps hold those up which is a fantastic little invention that they made but again you can do the same thing if you just have some longer bolts basically. Good luck to all you’ve been warned lol stay away from the blue rubber dildos

I've been working on and building Ford Windsor engines over 25yrs and I can confidently say this is the best oil pan gasket you can buy for a 302. This is a part that requires a considerable amount of labor to replace, so spending a few more bucks to get the best compared to those cheap ones at the chain parts stores shouldn't even require a second thought.

Bought this for my new Milodon pan which is OEM design with reinforcement stampings between the bolt holes. Found out from Ford racing website that this gasket is designed for flat rail pans only. Too bad, it is a good looking gasket but had to return it.

If you need a new one piece oil pan gasket, get this instead of the Fel-Pro. I have always used Fel-Pro gaskets in the past with great success but the one I used for my oil pan leaked. I thought it was the rear main which I replaced as a result with no luck. Took a chance replacing the gasket for the oil pan and decided to try Ford Racing and that fixed it. Not a single drop has leaked in over 3 weeks now.
