The Elevate Outdoor Folding Hitch-Mounted Cargo Carriers provide lightweight rear storage for your camping gear, coolers, small equipment, and more. Manufactured in lightweight aluminum, these carriers have a 500-pound weight capacity and fit Class III or IV 2" hitch receivers. Available in two widths, each carrier comes with an anti-rattle hitch bolt and a hitch pin, and has rear safety reflectors for better visibility on the road.
The folding design is simple. A large pull handle that allows you to easily reposition the empty carrier in the upright position to reduce your vehicle's footprint without removing the carrier.

Unlike powder-coated steel carriers that are bulky and prone to rust or chipped coating, the aluminum design is deceptively lightweight and is easy to assemble, install, and remove. Salt from roads or sea spray won’t corrode the metal, and the slats allow debris and water to pass through without accumulating.
Folds up when empty for a smaller footprint
Once your carrier is empty and you’re ready to park your vehicle, reduce the footprint at the pull of a handle. You won’t have to fiddle with removing the carrier and finding a place to store it; instead, it folds vertically for quick convenience.

The extruded design of the carrier is clean and streamlined yet provides plenty of places to secure your cargo within the inside edges.

Warning and Usage Guidelines
Be aware of your vehicle's suspension
Your hauling weight may be limited by your vehicle's suspension. Some vehicles may require air shocks or heavier springs to stiffen up the suspension and prevent sagging.
Know your vehicle's weight limits
Never exceed the maximum tongue rating of your trailer hitch. Motorcycle carriers are not recommended for use with hitch adapters or extensions.
Not recommended for certain vehicles
Hitch-mounted motorcycle carriers are not recommended for use on tow-behind trailers including 5th wheel and camping trailers, motor-homes or RVs.

Made a 2,000 miles trip with this carrier. Added a MaxxHaul 50376 Threaded Hitch Locking Pin for a peace of mind. Added 2 Nilight LED Lightbars - 16 inch 12 LED Red Running Brake Sequential Turn Signals Taillight for safety. The first one was all steel weight about 68 lbs non-folding. This is best one in my opinion due to the it only weight 37.8 lbs and made of aluminum that will not rust. The folding handle was very convenient to fold/unfold the carrier.

I specifically wanted aluminum for the lighter weight, but this is borderline flimsy. I wouldn’t feel safe putting more than 100-150lbs on this for any length of time.Good design but really needs to be engineered better.

I bought this carrier because I did not want to transport my lawnmower in my new RAV4. It seems to be well built and was easy to fit together. The carrier is light but sturdy. I found that the instructions were correctly detailed and explained what you need to do to complete the put together phase.

A well designed and precisely manufactured carrier. The aluminum carrier is suspended by a sturdy steel frame. Very precise assembly of the carrier and the steel frame is required. Then end result is a sturdy carrier.The folding mechanism is straightforward and works well; however, one should double check the locking mechanism to ensure that it is properly engaged.2 relatively minor dents in the sides of the carrier and a 3rd deep dent in one of the slats were noted on arrival. The deformity in the slat was repaired with a mallet.Despite the largely cosmetic flaws detailed above, it seems like a good product. Purchased at a discounted price…

Just went for 2000 miles with it loaded to my cars hitch tongue weight limit. The hinge feature worked wonderfully. Liked to light weight of the aluminum so I can easily install and remove and store.

Yes, it costs more than some. It's worth it. It is very light. It assembles in 10 minutes and has great instructions. It folds. It comes with an anti-rattle hitch bolt/pin. In stows closely to the van (without hitting). Operates VERY easily despite some other reviews. When installed the basket sits 5-6" higher than ones that do not have the "rise" built in.

Haven’t tested it on the road yet but so far looking good. Only complaint is paint chipping when lifted up and down.

It sits far enough away from the back hatch that you can access the rear with it installed. Folds up nicely when not in use and the hitch pin tightened up snugly so there’s no rattling.
