What are the symptoms of insufficient motorcycle cylinder pressure?

  • 1. The inner wall of the cylinder is pulled into deep grooves, resulting in a decrease in compression pressure and loss of power performance.
  • 2. The downward movement of combustible mixture increases the pressure in the crankcase, and in severe cases, it can cause an explosion in the crankcase.
  • 3. The exhaust pipe emits severe smoke, the engine noise is abnormal, and the engine cannot work properly or even stalls.

What are the reasons for insufficient cylinder pressure?

  • 1. The engine cooling system overheats due to leakage, lack of water, and failure to replenish in a timely manner.
  • 2. The piston ring breaks and scratches the cylinder wall.
  • 3. The piston ring is stuck in the groove due to carbon accumulation, losing its sealing effect.
  • 4. The piston pin circlip has fallen off.
  • 5. Foreign objects enter the cylinder.

What are the solutions to insufficient cylinder pressure?

  • 1. Replace the valve oil seal.
  • 2. Replace the piston and piston rings.
  • 3. Inlaid air cylinder liner.
  • 4. Replacing valve springs.
  • 5. Replacing cylinder head gasket.

Installed like any other top end. Definitely a power improvement over our other/newer ttr125e. Seems to be well built. My son(13yro) is 3 pretty hard rides (home track 5-7hrs with 20ft doubles) in and so far so good. Will updated if it blows prematurely. Looking at installing one on my pit bike.

I've installed one of these kits in a 2001 TTR125 engine, with excellent results, this kit is for a 2013 engine. Before installing, I checked bore clearances and ring gaps. All were within tolerances per the service manual. That said, I purchased two off eBay and the piston to bore clearance of those were over 0.3mm, far over the max of 0.15, so those were returned. This kit was spot on. I wish they'd include instructions for the rings... for those that are wondering, the black ring goes above the oil rings, and the silver ring goes on top. Lettering on the rings faces the top of the piston. Refer to the service manual for the ring gap spacing around the piston, basically, each should be 45 degrees from each other, and do not overlap the wavy oil ring. Would recommend, but make sure you have gages to check the ring gaps and clearances within the return window. This kit also includes valve seals (I didn't need) and a gasket for the cam chain tensioner.
