This oil funnel looks a little odd, not what you would expect it to be. But it works! When you are changing the oil in your car, you don’t want to be looking for something to use. It’s flexible and easy to use and clean. You will need to give it time to adjust the funnel, the packaging it comes in is not the shape it needs to be.This is unusual shape for a funnel, but it certainly is functional and a good buy for the home mechanic.

I do my own oil changes on my 2007 Ford F150, and one thing that has always pissed me off was the fact that when you remove the oil filter it spills all over the the floor because the oil hits the crossmember and goes in two directions. Well this little gem takes care of all of the mess. I can now capture all the oil by forming this to the shape that allows me to get right up next to the filter, and have it drain only to one side. It did take a couple of try’s to get it to just the right shape, but now that it is formed, I don’t see a need to change it. It was just the right length to guide the oil to my drain pan. It wipes clean, and turned out to be a very good investment for what was a messy job. I highly recommend this flexible funnel.

As a funnel, I'm not sold. You have to wrap it tight so it seals against itself so you don't get oil everywhere (like if the oil flows between the folds you made, dripping outside the container). Doable, but, like, just get a funnel.Where this thing shines is to be able to get into weird spaces to catch oil (or any other fluid) and drain it in whatever direction you need. Potentially also as a surface to set down the oil filter you just got off the car. In this configuration, the fact that you can pinch the end to precisely 'aim' the flow off the end is excellent.Unfortunately in playing with this thing, the thin metal that is hidden inside the silicone casing (that allows it to hold its shape) popped out of the edge along one side (a tear, basically) so i can see a couple inches of bare metal. Perhaps it was too sharp to stay encased by the silicone but, in any case, it'll still do the job.I do think it's expensive for what it is, but I do like the idea and creativity. I would not call this a must-have tool for the cars I own now, but I do remember owning a 4 cyl Honda that just loved getting oil all over the subframe when removing the oil filter. This would have been awesome for that.

Prior to ordering this product, I didn't know that a flexible fluid funnel was a thing. After receiving it and giving it a try, I'm amazed at just how handy it is. This product is a 7" x 15" sheet of rubber that is 1/8 inch thick. Inside the rubber is some sort of material that holds its shape, so you can bend and mold the sheet into shapes. The entire sheet is moldable, all except the very edge. It takes a little practice, but once you get the hand of it it becomes easy and quick to mold the funnel into a variety of shapes for fluid control. It can be a tall funnel, or a short funnel, a fat funnel, or a thin funnel. When not in use flatten it out, roll it up, and stow it away. The versatility is fantastic. The side of the sheet intended for use has a glossy sheen/finish to it. The other side does not. The glossy side is simple to wipe clean. This is great innovation...improving the age old form of a funnel. I already ordered a second one.Note: The product is rubber and has a tacky feel. If you set it down on a dirty floor or similar surface debris does like to stick to it. This isn't a product flaw, but something to note. The last thing you want is grit and grime getting funneled into whatever system you are adding fluids.

I was worried it would be cheap. It isn’t. It flexes well and does not stain. I don’t know why I waited so long to buy something like this.
