These are very burly. They did exactly what I wanted and are unlikely to fail. Warning: do not try to install these with a hand tool unless you have King Kong hand strength. Use an air tool rivet gun, then it is a total piece of cake.

Well they are black so that's a couple stars but they are not made of stainless steel. Tested the black head with a magnetic and it was non ferrous so I'm guessing aluminum.

I tried to use them but the tail broke off in the tool and made the tool unrepairable.Im not sure how they would do 1/2" as the rivet length is just slightly over 1/2"

Pop rivets are a standard toolbox and project item that i like to have available to fasten sheet metal items together with a flush top. These are a good value and the rivet is made of Stainless Steel which is great for corrosion resistance and rust prevention. Picture 1 shows the pack. These are a useful size at 3/16ths inch rivet diameter, with an about 1/4 inch grip range. The rivet head is 3/8ths inch diameter. I like to add a #8 washer to the head (ideal fit) to give a flat rivet tail side surface - Picture 2 is a rivet with my own washer. These rivets are available in other sizes too.I Recommend this FDXGYH 3/16ths x 1/2 inch Stainless Steel Pop Rivet 50 Pack. Great value, good to have on hand.

These were as advertised. I use them to repair a stainless steel exhaust pipe that kept rotating from vibration on a backhoe stack.

I use pop rivets quite a lot in projects.As the listing says - these have a bit bigger flange and hold very well.
