This carbon fiber extension pole allows you to add 14-25 inches of extension to a gimbal handle, tripod head, or whatever else you have that uses 1/4"-20 threads.It feels lightweight but surprisingly rigid with no weight on it. Adding weight and bringing it to full extension reveals some wobble, but some of that isn't the pole wobbling, it's everything else wobbling because you have a long leaver and relatively small 1/4"-20 screws holding it together. There isn't much that can be done about that.As a selfie stick, it doesn't have a lot of length but it would be good for old school walk and talk vlogging with the right camera/lens setup. The shorter length and limited extension range allows it to be lighter and stiffer than a selfie stick designed for longer extension.A common problem when extending gimbals is oscillation as the gimbal tries to correct for flex-induced wobble. I have seen that with longer extension poles but it hasn't been a problem using this pole, mainly because the maximum length isn't long enough for low frequency oscillations to really build up.Another common problem with extendable selfie sticks when used with gimbals is that the weight can cause the stick to twist, causing the gimbal to sag off to the side or sometimes causing the stick to unlock and allowing it to collapse/extend. I have had that happen with a couple of longer selfie sticks when used at shorter lengths. I have not had that happen with this extension pole so far. Construction quality seems good. It works as it should. The limitations I've found are all inherent to an extension pole like this and not specific to this extension pole. It isn't the highest quality highest grade extension pole but it's not priced the same as some extension poles either. The 5-star rating is based on both overall function and the sub-$25 price tag.

A pole like this is only as strong as its screw couplings. So just make extra sure you tighten them all down well when attaching your gimbal. It’s nice and lightweight. But there’s no handgrip which is hugely disappointing. Not sure why that wasn’t included leaving you to grab the metal base area or carbon fiber. At the end of the day it’s good but not great. I’m UE and I own a video production company and specialize in reviewing film equipment.

This is quickly becoming a "go to" item because it can do--or play a part in--so many things I do. Its most recent incarnation is as a webcam base, (with my base and iPhone clip). Last week at an orchard I used it as a boom for photography, and later on, briefly, a selfie stick.I haven't tried anything much heavier than a Canon mirrorless camera on a gimbal. It didn't seem to strain under the weight.It seems well made, lock, unlocks, extends and retracts smoothly and easily.

I was impressed by the quality of this carbon extension. It's very light and the locking mechanism is strong with no flex at the joint. My other gimbal extension tends to wobble at the joint when its extended past halfway. This extension can be extended to its full length without any flexing.

This is a well made and light extension pole. I ordered it specially for my camera rig to extend the height. Fits well with my stand and holding up my rig well.
