Seriously. Measuring ph. And the meter returns ‘LO’. What a joke! Need a number. So I know how much to add to change ph. Returning this POS! Should be removed from sale!

This meter meets all my needs. I like the Bluetooth feature that sends the results directly to my phone(app.) The app allows me to track the results from my home and mountain home. Portable and durable! I found videos online that helped with the initial navigating of the meter and app. I also had a question in which I contacted their customer support. Wish I remembered their name, they were very informative and pleasant to speak with.

This device works well. Readings are stored on your phone in the app. The only issue I have is that you have to hook up by bluetooth, you can't take a test without the app.

There is a learning curve, but all in all glad I spent the $$. I purchased additional tests from the app for a saltwater pool and those work fine as well. Things I would like to see improved - better data export capability. Also, an ability to set targets would be great. I am constantly refreshing my memory what value range I am attempting to stay within.

I bought this tester mainly because I use a copper/silver ionizer for sanitation. This system requires precise measurement to maintain a copper level of between .3 - .5 ppm. The local pool stores are not able to test for copper and copper test strips are useless. Ditto for the brand name test kits on the market.I read reviews from others with complaints that they could not get the unit to work so sold them off cheap on Craigs or Ebay in frustration. I took advantage of this and bought a new "store return" for $50.00. After trying and failing many times to get it to read tests I was very close to smashing it with hammer. Even though I followed the instructions both online and from the supplied user manual I could not get it to work... Until by accident I found the problem.....The section "Select Test" says "select test" then "Zero the meter". IT omits to say.... WAIT..... until the display reads "sync successful" in little red letters. This can take several seconds to happen. Once you have that on the screen, go ahead with the rest of the stages and you should be up and running.I have been using the device for over 2 years now and am able to keep my pool well balanced and crystal clear with a copper level right in the middle at .4 ppm. I do not use chlorine or stabilizer so cannot comment on those tests but TA CA PH and CU produce very accurate results compared to those obtained by the pool store. The app interface for android is a little flaky but I have no problems making the bluetooth connection.Hope all this helps.

User must remember to rinse and zero after every reading. The app for Android does not work as advertised. It does not save data, so keep a pen and paper handy -- and enter the values jotted down as manual entries. The directions for use are scant. Many owners are selling their iDips because they can't figure how to work it.

What a disappointment. This Photometer sounded really great. Does a ton of tests (need to buy not only the strips from them but also the 'test' for the app at another 5 bucks a pop) but you need to buy the strips separately. The App shows a total lack of iPhone or smartphone understanding of the manufacturer. Horrible UI, horrible design and it is barely useable. Its messages are random and written by programmer with zero experience of UI interaction. Even when you buy an extra 'test' for the strips you also bought the in-app purchase brings up a strange 'Buying Algorithm' message while spinning its ball. But that is really just annoying. What is outright bad design is the whole Bluetooth experience. They follow absolutely no standard and had to cook their own really bad solution. Rather than pairing the device once and be done with it, you have to semi-pair it every time you use it out of a list of cryptic numbers. Nobody does it as bad as this app/device combo. It gets even worse: If you let you iPhone on the table after it has been paired and walk with the meter to the pool just 20ft away to dip it into the water, by the time you are back the device has quietly lost the bluetooth connection without telling you. As you progress with the test procedure it will do everything until the very end. Instead of showing you the result it will give you a cryptic ER1 or ER2 message, stating it has lost BT connectivity. You have to re-pair and restart the test from scratch. What a disastrous implementation. The test result store doesn't get better. No concept of iCLoud integration, nothing but the ability to email yourself the results in an ugly plain text email. If you would hope to have an API of any sort to collect the data other than parsing these ugly emails you are out of lack. This App needs to get trashed and totally rewritten from scratch. Not worth it.Device itself feels sturdy and is decently designed but the App is beyond unacceptable for todays standards.
