Bought this to replace a factory NSS in my XJ Cherokee. I attempted to get off the old one to clean it but broke it. This worked perfectly and was priced well below other similar parts. It seemed like a quality part and the seller shipped fast. I would definitely recommend.

Ive gone through a few of these, OEM and the cheaper ebay alternatives. The oem one I had broke when taking it off. The ebay one broke at the plastic junction to the cast lug on the wiper. Upon further inspection the ebay ones plastic casting on the copper leads inside were all badly made and had many high spots which caught the wiper and eventually broke it. Got a used oem sensor and broke the lug thread castings on install, just old and fatigued parts.THIS new sensor was actually well made, all castings and plastics are perfect, all copper leads well exposed with no rough edges, and came fully greased. I disassembled before install for a thorough inspection. After all the troubles and strandings I have had in snowy weather I had enough and needed to be sure, and I sure wasnt going to spend $300 at Autozone. Be sure to slab a dab of antisieze on the transmission lug to the sensor, for any reason it makes removal a breeze. Also make ABSOLUTELY sure that you do not tighten the index nut to set the sensor depth, you have to use the locknut lightly threaded and a small hammer to tap on the wiper lug to seat the sensor. Any prying or tapping on the housing will damage the unit and set you back, these zinc/magnesium cast parts just aint up to snuff of what they used to be. When setting the index it takes two people, have someone in the seat shifting the trans into R, so you can check the center of when the reverse lights come on, then shift to 1-2 and park to find the sensor stop limits so you dont break the wiper when its tightened.

This unit was well-priced compared to other suppliers. The package info indicated it was made in Taiwan, not mainland China which I consider a real plus. When I installed it, it did permit starting in Park, but not in Neutral. Starting in neutral is not something I need or use, so I have decided to keep the unit.

Was a bit of a pain to get the old unit off the shaft and the location couldnt make getting to it harder to do on my '01 Cherokee. Great value for the product, I was shocked at how expensive the local and online resellers were charging for this same product. Glad I found this alternative. Got me back on the road.

This was a perfect fit for my 98 Jeep Cherokee. Amazon said it would not fit my 98 Jeep Cherokee but I took a chance on it because I read the reviews. I had the check engine light come on and was getting code P0705 transmission range sensor a circuit. My Jeep started fine in park and in nuetral but it wouldn’t shift into overdrive. The check engine light has not come back on since I have replaced the sensor and I have overdrive back! The best part is this nuetral safety switch only cost me $40 bucks. Autozone wanted almost $300 for the same part, so finding it for 40 bucks was awesome. The only thing I can not properly review is the durability of the sensor. It seems like a good part but time will tell.
