You cannot go wrong with this baking dish. It’s so well made and cleans up like a dream. I think the food tastes better because of it! I love it so much I also bought the 9 x 9 version. I use them both all the time. They are going to last forever!

Although I own several (pricey) 9X13 baking pans, I found this one to be the perfect size and weight. Unlike French made cast iron enamel pans, this one is light weight even after you load it up with ingredients. And many other 9X13 pans simply aren’t deep enough for making layered recipes. This one is ideal for making spanakopita… perfectly bakes the ratio of wet ingredients to phyllo dough. It’s also a beautiful pan making it an attractive serving dish as well. Although I’ve only had this dish for a short time, I have been using other EH baking products for over 20 years. I’m confident this pan will also hold up nicely for years to come. Highly recommend!

My 13x9 arrived well packed and on time. The seller even doubled boxed it for added protection against damage. It is not glazed on the outside bottom. It is intentionally designed to be that way for heat absorption and distribution. The glazing inside is absolutely perfect and smooth. These bakers are formed by hand and dipped by hand. There are two spots on the outside where the glaze is just a little thicker, like tiny droplets. This is to be expected on any hand dipped item. You are paying for a high performance piece of cookery designed and made with the best materials available by highly skilled craftsmen. If you want the best baker out there, this is it. If you feel the price is too high, you may have to settle for a piece of corning or pyrex. I'm a bit of a perfectionist which is why I chose this one.Craig in SC

I love this baking dish, in fact, it’s the best one I’ve ever owned. It’s so easy to clean, it’s the perfect size and depth for so many dishes. It is pretty sturdy- but my husband broke my first one by dropping it on the floor, so don’t do that. I finally bought another one from Amazon and it arrived completely shattered. Bought another one again and the same thing. The dish was sloppily thrown into a box with the smallest bit of bubble wrap and then that box was thrown into a much larger box. Terrible terrible packaging. No fragile signs anywhere on the box. I would honestly be shocked if it arrived intact with the way it was shipped. It’s also so annoying that now I have to send it back and it wouldn’t even let me return both to the same location?! I had to return one to Whole Foods and one to a UPS store, a complete and utter waste of time.Bottom line, this dish is amazing and you should get it. But don’t get it from Amazon. I just purchased a fourth one from Emile Henry’s website and although you have to pay for shipping I literally found a coupon code that made the entire purchase cheaper than it was on Amazon.

Just recently and when I say that I'm talking about the the last couple of years, I've found a lasagna recipe that I really love and its a recipe I want to to keep forever. But the problem was that my biggest pan was just barely big and deep enough to barely hold everything in. I mean the sauce was even with the rim and when baking it , it would splatter a little and I would always have some kind of mess to clean afterwards. Well I have to say that with this Emile Henry baker dish, it was plenty deep and big enough that I had no issues what so ever. The lasagna came up to be about a half of an inch below the top of the dish. I have to say that it was the best dish of lasagna that I ever made. Bottom line, its a great dish. A little pricey, but for me it was well worth it. Although I'm not understanding how some are complaining about the bottom not being glazed. Mines not and it works just fine. Oh did I mention how easy it cleaned up.

I received this large rectangular casserole dish in perfect condition. The bottom had red streaks on it for some reason but that can't be seen unless you're washing the dish so its no big deal. I purchase Emile Henry over other brands because of the reviews here and elsewhere online. It is reviewed higher than le creuset (which is now made in China) and staub and I hope the dish I received stands the test of time. The dish is deep and I love that. I chose red and it's a beautiful, vibrant yet tasteful red. I've used it once already and plan to use it often. I also purchased the salt cellar by Emile Henry and will likely buy the smaller square casserole dish in twilight at some point as well.

I was delighted that I finally got a big enough casserole dish (13" x 9") that could cook recipe portions for my family of 6, and can be used from the oven to the dining table. It fitted perfectly into my oven. I like the simple and elegant design of the handmade creamy white dish. The smooth, curved handles at the sides are very practical and makes it easy to transfer from oven to counter or the dining table. Although it was sold as a Lasagna Dish, I have also used it for baking, roasting and steaming. It is extremely easy to clean after use because of the smooth glaze. The only thing I wish it has is a lid, but that is easily solved with Cling Wrap or aluminium foil. It is a fantastic complement for any kitchen.

The added depth is perfect for lasagna, casseroles, and gratins. So much more lovely on a buffet than plain pyrex type glass (though I have several of those, too, for taking to large potlucks so it's not a big deal if it gets a chip or gets taken by another person ). WORD to the WISE on these types of baking pans: The pan is made from clay and then glazed. The underside of the pan does not have a glaze, thus the unglazed clay is exposed and will soak up water. You should not put these pans in a sink of water. If you do, allow several days for drying - upside down to expose the underside to air. It's OK to put water in the pan itself and let that soak for a bit. I am also cautious about using pans like this straight from the freezer to the oven. If you've been careful about not getting the bottom overly wet, it might be OK. But everything I've read about using glazed clay like this says that exposing the unglazed portion to moisture (even sitting in water on the counter while you prepare the food contents) and then putting it in the oven can cause breakage. I'm always careful about this on my other 2 glazed clay casseroles and have never had a problem.

I received the dish from UPS and the box was slightly dented on one end. Upon opening the box, I found several layers and sizes of bubble wrap; however, as you can see in the picture, one ceramic handle had broken during shipping. I immediately contacted amazon and they shipped a replacement which arrived in perfect condition 2 days later. The feel of the pan is substantial. It is heavy enough to require the use of both hands to slide it in and out of the oven when filled with lasagna. I found that it heated uniformly and baked the lasagna perfectly within the time suggested in the recipe. The dish is pretty enough to serve directly from it during the meal and the extra depth of the dish allowed plenty room for a 4th layer without the sauce bubbling out of the dish in the oven. The inside is covered in a smooth ceramic glaze and this made removing the individual portions so easy. I only lightly greased the sides before assembling the ingredients and the lasagna slid out effortlessly without a mess. Clean up was just as easy. I think you should try this if you are serious about making lasagna - just give yourself a few extra days to receive a replacement in case the first pan arrives broken.

Perfect for Lasagne, chicken roasts. Easy to clean. The firm grip on the bottom prevents sliding of the dish on oven-countertops-glass surfaces. Very satisfied with the product,
