We love this little machine. It works well but, the capacity is so small and it tends to overheat if you are making rice flour. I didn't realize how much we would actually use this so I didn't mind when I purchased it how small it was so that's not the creators fault that was mine. So, quick back story we decided to go gluten free for the most part and I decided to start making rice flour instead of using regular all purpose flour anymore. So, I bought this to do just that. But, when you think of all the things that you actually use flour for it becomes a lot harder when you have a small machine to do that. Now, using this machine was my first time making my own rice flour and I will say this you will need to play around with it to get the right "flour texture" because it will not happen in one go. This was more meant for coarser things or like dry seasoning making or coffee for those it's probably perfect. What we do to get the rice a fine texture is we prepare the rice (I wont go through that whole process here). After you prepare the rice and it's dry you will need to crush it in small batches using the machine. After you have crushed all your prepared rice in the machine you will need to run all of the powder back through the machine one or two more times until it gets a very fine texture to it that will mimic regular all purpose flour. I will say after I realized that I needed to run it through the machine several times and I did that I have no problem with it. It usually takes hours to finish crushing all the rice because we make gravies, bake breads, bagels and desserts from scratch using the rice flour so we often need a lot. We will most likely be purchasing a grain mill of some sort to do big batches, but honestly this will work for a big batch too just takes more time.P.SFor the overheating you will just need to unplug it let it cool down for awhile and then plug it back in and continue.
