Grated cheddar cheese very well. I tried mincing onion, which produced a slushy outcome. That's all I have tried it with so far.

The last time my wife got a Salad Shooter was 15 years ago and it finally broke down. When we got this Salad Machine, we were impressed with the way it sliced vegetables and cheese. This is a good product to have in the kitchen.

Purchased for daughter for Christmas- she said the openings are too small for vegetable chopping and would like to return. She was not pleased with the product! Please advise how we can return this product. Thank you!

It's funny that they call it a "Salad Machine" and not a "Salad Shooter" as it should have been named. The design of the machine doesn't even fit the contour of a simple round plate, so when you're chopping vegetables in it, it shoots them out the side of the machine and to the side of your plate. It also drops in between the plate and the machine, and makes a horrible mess. Then once it's time to do cleanup, there's a plastic piece that holds the shaft in place for the tube where you put the vegetables into, which seems to catch some of the food particles. This makes it impossible to get inside and clean it. It took me almost 10 minutes just to get the food particles out, because let's face it, no one wants rotten food from the previous use mixed in with the fresh food you're trying to chop. There are absolutely better options out there for the same price.
