This was not at all what I was expecting. I was hoping for something that would quickly and easily cut up fruit (like strawberries). I tried it once, and it just tore the fruit up. The blades are a blunt edge that just ended up smashing the berries rather than cutting them. I ended up returning it.

I haven't given this a try on an egg, but I did use to slice up strawberries. It didn't feel like it saved that much time because it doesn't slice all the way through, I had to flip to over and push the fruit to encourage it out of the slicer. I think I was hoping the blades were a little sharper, but I can understand how that may be a safety concern.

My son likes all of his fruits and veggies sliced, which always gets requested when I'm in the middle of five other things. I bought these so that either I can slice his items faster, or he can be my helper and slice certain fruits himself. I always supervise him, but he loves that he can slice his strawberries all by himself and eat them out of the same container. These are easy to clean and so far, the blades are still sharp!

I have been eating a lot of fruit and chopping up veggies. This works great on eggs to dice up for chicken, tuna and egg salad. I love mushrooms and this is Good on mushrooms too for green salads and spice up dishes with mushrooms. It is good to have several around just in case there are several ingredients needing diced up for a meal. It is not so great on hard items.A little hard to clean the blades since they are so close together but using the brushes that come with this kit it gets the job done.
