I bought it August 4th. It's September 28th. Mowed three times and the clutch is deader than a hammer. Don't wate your money on this one.

I only have it 4 stars because the cord it came with wasn’t long enough and I didn’t have slack to pull it further. I could’ve mounted it on the side to make it fit? But that wasn’t the way the original was mounted and I didn’t wanna risk rubbing or friction. But it’s on, and working so far. It also seems like this has a little more drive and spin than the old one, which would be awesome because the original was leaving a trail of uncut grass because this was spinning fast enough. Thanks for a good product that was a fraction of the price, of the original. Update: After taking it out & cutting 4acres with it? It felt like a new mower.. It also corrected the problem of leaving that trail of grass, as you can see from the pic I posted..

I purchased this to replace a bent PTO Clutch assembly on my 2016 Bad Boy Mower. The picture is of the OEM clutch assembly. It's a 72" cut with an Kawasaki 850 engine. The part mostly fits, it's not an exact replacement. The body is about 1/2" too tall, the writing is 6" to short. Does it work yes, does it for barely, for $100 cheaper than the OEM ok, I get it.

Though the wire was too short, I'm still giving this a five star review because...My Bad Boy is a 2017 model. That year was when they started using a different clutch than this one, still in use today (I believe on their more professional models). But after MANY calls, eventually getting to "those that know" at Bad Boy, I bought this one for mine with confidence. And their advice was correct: for my mower, this is a solid replacement. FWIW, it is also substantially less expensive AND more available than the "new" style.My mower had a manufacturing defect. To wit: The bolt holding on the clutch fell out. It cause mine to slide down and only hold the bottom inch or so of the shaft - it was only held on by the long "guide" screw. This created some vibration, but not enough to cause me to really analyze the clutch. What finally forced my hand was when the vibration broke the wire. It also damaged the last 1/3 of the key slot in the engine shaft.Fortunately, this one slid all the way up the shaft where it belongs and I torqued the bolt as specified. I also now double check it every time I'm done mowing. :)Installation notes. 1.The part for 2017 and later models takes a 1.5" 7/8-20 bolt. This one takes a 2.5" version. The whole thing looks to be more robust than the "new" part as well.2. The wire connection ends up at the back of the mower, rather than towards the right side. This means your existing wire is too short. But when connected to the wire that comes with this clutch, you have all you need. But you have to cut an end off each to splice them. So be aware of that.I have three separate lawns on my property, totally about 9 acres. I've mowed three times since I bought this. My mower is now as smooth running as it was when it was brand new.
