  • 【BOOSTING POWER PERFORMANCE】Engine Camshafts are one of the key components of an engine, controlling the timing and magnitude of valve opening and closing, provides greater valve opening and duration, resulting in increased combustion chamber intake and exhaust efficiency. 【BALANCING TORQUE AND FUEL ECONOMY】The Engine Camshaft balances engine torque output with fuel economy. By precisely controlling the timing of valve opening and closing, the camshaft enables more efficient fuel combustion.
  • 【IMPROVED ENGINE RESPONSE】Utilizing a high-performance camshaft reduces valve lag, allowing the engine to respond faster to pedal strokes, and providing a more responsive acceleration and driving experience. 【ENHANCED ENGINE SOUND】Some Engine Camshafts have cam shapes designed to enhance engine sound. This design increases the popping and resonance effect in the exhaust system, producing a more intense engine sound and a more exciting audio experience for the driver.

I recently put the E-1838-P Sloppy Stage 1 Cam Camshaft to the test. Using a Leeb hardness tester, I compared it to a factory GM Gen V LT camshaft I had on hand. The end where the timing gear mounts averaged 515 HL hardness on the GM camshaft. The Sloppy Stage 1 cam I received from this listing averaged a solid 520 HL. Testing the lobes showed the GM cam averaging 783 HL, while the Sloppy cam came in at a respectable 755. These results suggest that the Sloppy Stage 1 cam is well within the expected hardness range, instilling confidence in its quality.I attempted to measure the lift and durations at 0.050", but my homemade test bench setup had too much play, so I'll need to rework it and provide an update later. After seeing other reviews questioning the hardness, I wanted to confirm its quality and eliminate potential user errors before proceeding. For installation, I plan to use Delphi GM LS7 lifters and name-brand springs. This camshaft appears to be a solid option for anyone looking to upgrade their Chevy LS, LS1, or LS3 engine, including models like the Chevy Camaro Corvette and Pontiac Firebird from 1997 to 2004. So far, my experience suggests it delivers the durability and reliability enthusiasts need.

You need to do a hardness test on any of these off brand cams you come across. You equally need to do a solid visual inspectionRemember that cheap cams, regardless of where they are produced, have costs built into the quality process. When they are sold cheaply, they're skipping that process to save cost. It inevitably puts you the consumer in the driver seat to determine if its good to use.Visually mine looks fine. I am testing it for hardness and lift/duration now.

This camshaft just didn't look right and feel right, tried to do a low budget cam swap, and it was that chinese low product made cheap metal. it might do the job for you and your rebuild, hit or miss. I just didn't want to take that chance. So, I ordered the TSP stage 2 camshaft. my soldier buddy next door fired up his F/body LS1 after his cam swap to take to local dyno shop, didn't make it out the driveway! chinese camshaft $460.00 package! pouring oil out from the front and back of his engine!
