It's one line that branches off to a 2 split ends. It keeps both dogs close, but this doesn't work well with small dogs. The tension on the line isn't strong enough to keep it tight enough so the line constantly gets caught up in the dogs legs due to slack. The material on the end of the line is far too heavy for the tension and that creates the issue.The locking feature also sticks frequently.

The leash gets locked up and is not easily able to fix when walking your dog. I had to stop several times just to be able to let the lead revert then be able to move forward. That’s a pain especially when you have an energetic dog.

The splitter that separates the dogs is too heavy for the leash it comes with

The leash splitter is a bit tricky to get used to and one dog usually pulls the other but I kind of expected that because I knew they walked at different speeds. I’m hoping this trains them to walk together. I have harnesses coming in the mail that I am hoping makes this more manageable. The reason I’m giving this review only two stars is because the retractable leash is trash. The button gets jammed constantly. This was my first use of the leash and can only see if it being a pain as I continue to use it.
