Other reviews noted some very concerning flaws, but I have not encountered them in my limited testing. The overall build quality I would rate as average, in the range of a higher end tool at harbor freight or a low end home depot tool like ryobi. I would say this is a fine choice for a big DIY project, use it until you wear it out then decide if you need anything more robust. For a pro, I might say skip it. I have a big drywall project later this year and will update after that!

Works great and a great price! Purchased for a contractor to remove texture on walls and ceilings. Texture is gone and walls look great! Contractor impressed with the unit as well. Light weight, has dust collector and includes a variety of sandpaper grits. Purchased additional 120 grit disks for application needed. Highly recommend this item to add to your diy projects.

HOLDING IT OVER YOUR HEAD TRYING TO GET POPCORN OFF AN 8' CEILING IS HARD ON THE ARMS. WE WENT BACK TO MOISTENING THE CEILING AND SIMPLY SCRAPING IT OFF. EASY! HOWEVER, THE SANDER WORKED WELL TO SMOOTH OFF THE CEILING AND WALLS.

I used this sander on my bathroom ceiling, which had chipping, falling paint and mold. I used 80 grit sandpaper. It worked well. Having done drywall before, including ceilings, I know how difficult they can be, dust being one huge issue. This could be a solution. While it doesn't get all of the dust, it does a good job at getting most of it. That's huge if you've ever sanded ceilings before. I'll be using it to remove some old repaired popcorn ceiling next.

Very nice tool helping to keep the mess of drywall sanding to a minim and makes the job go much faster then the old way of doing the sanding of mud work on dry walls.

A few issues. To me it still seems way under powered compared to doing it with a handheld grinder. This is essentially a grinder with a handle but it is harder to put any pressure on it. Also, the bag alone is reason enough to not buy it for me. I like to keep all my stuff organized, especially tools. After 10 minutes of trying o just gave up. The light is okay, the tube for the vacuum connection is too small for a standard shop vacuum. Hope you have adapters. Overall I think it is okay, but not if the bag is important to you.
