I ordered this for my older GMC. It's not painted but supposedly has some type of coating to prevent it from rusting. It does have a boot on the ball where the OEM One just uses a felt washer. Seems well built but once I looked on the side of the box it says made in China. I've ordered dorman parts before and it's hit or miss. The quality seems like it's there but time will tell. I should have ordered a Moog part. Some of the doorman parts like the idler arm are upgraded and work well. Never had any issues with Moog
