Easy replacement. Fits great. The end piece is a bit different from OEM but it works well and thr length is spot on.

I bought 2 of these to replace the LH and RH cables. Same part number but were of different lengths. So the adjuster does not set evenly. They work though...most important point.

This was an exact fit for the seized hand brake cable on my 2000 VW Cabrio. Removal of the old one, which I think was the original, was surprisingly easy and installing the new one wasn’t much harder. Start to finish, it took less than an hour. Granted, that’s more a testament to VW than this item, but that should give you confidence that you can replace yours too.In the decades I’ve been working on cars, more often than not, the aftermarket parts don’t quite fit as well as the OEM, so this was a nice surprise. If your cable is sticking or rusted solid, this is the part you want. Just make sure to hit the caliber pivot with some rust penetrant (PB Blaster can’t be beat) a few hours before starting the work.Oh, and if you aren’t sure about the other cable, replace it at the same time. The tension in a new cable will often cause the other, old one to snap without warning.

Good replacement. The cable inside it plastic coated to prevent corrosion and to be "lubricated" to slide easily. The end that connects to the caliper bracket seems to be plastic and not metal. It is black instead of the copper/metal color the OEM cable had. This is the fixed part were the clamp attaches to and cable comes out of. On the cabin end, the cable seems to be about an inch longer than the OEM. The adjustment nut and clamping nut went into the threads but I didn't have to screw it in as far down as the OEM was. My wheel lock at about 2-3 clicks. The car on a slow roll can be stoped at 1 click. They have been on the car for about 1 month. I expect them to stretch so I will inspect them and check for readjustment in a few weeks. They have been working well since.

These are slightly larger than oem. With the rust that was in my lines, I had to spend some time figuring out that there was a small blockage in one of the mounting tubes. Was for a MK3 2001 VW Cabrio. If replacing, get 2 and replace both. If old ones are stretched they could be really crooked and will bind up when you pull the hand brake.

I ordered 2 to replace both of my 2001 Cabrio parking brake lines and these worked fine. Make sure to keep the guide tubes off your old lines and install them on these or else they won't work!

I ordered this cable for my 98 jetta tdi drum brake rear waited 10 days for parcel pool to deliver via usps opened up box and they are the wrong cable even though amazon said this fits my vehicle. They have plastic pieces instead of metal where cable meets backing plates.
