Evap code had been on for months. Checked for actual leaks and found this was not actuating when 12V was applied. Replaced, cleared CEL, and hasn't came back in the last 1,400 miles or so.

I had a 2002 Altima with a P1456 Evap control code. I ordered this valve and replaced it along with the charcoal canister (due to seized bolts). Drove the car through its Evap monitor and it passed. The valve works perfectly, and it comes with a new O-ring and bolts, which I was a little afraid would be missing. I had the part shipped over night and it was at my front door the next day, for 4 bucks! If your Altima is driving you crazy with this Evap code, you won't be disappointed (assuming this is what your car needs of course)

Part fit exactly as the OEM part fit and cost a fraction of the price! I needed to correct an emissions problem on a used xterra I bought out state before I could get the car inspected and registered in Texas. Nissan wanted $150 for the part and I heard others online saying that Nissan charged anywhere from 600-1000 to do the repair and supply the part. I got the part here on Amazon for about $75 which includes the 1-day shipping. I spent a day and a half working on replacing the part; most of my labor was spent on removing the old part due to rust and the old bolts seizing. I reset my CEL and drove approx. 80 miles CEL did not return and vehicle passed emissions with flying colors.

This product fixed my Check Engine light and emissions issue, however it wasn't built with the same quality as the original. The mounting screws did not thread very easily, but the originals were very old and rusted so I had to make the new ones work. For the price, I would buy this again but expect to fight with it a little.

The check engine light came on telling me I had a minor vacuum leak in the environmental system. Guys at the auto store said its usually a gas cap problem. My gas cap was sealing well, so that wasn't the issue. Finally a guy told me it may be the purge valve, but I would have to buy one from the Nissan dealer. The valve is located directly behind the driver side rear wheel on my 2002 I35. The screws will be corroded because it is open to the environment. Be careful not to break the screws or the plastic guard protecting it from the wheel area. The installation is very easy. No hose clamps are used. Remove the electrical connector last and be careful not to crack the connector. It took about a 1/2 hr. Finally, completed the steps to reset the check engine light:How to reset ECU in 5th and 6th Generation Maxima’s (and I35 from 2002 on)1. Turn ignition switch on and wait about 3 seconds.Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.2a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).2b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking. (here is where i think you can get a code from this.)4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)5. Wait about 10 second.6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink).8. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone. This product worked as advertised and fixed my problem. Very Happy!
