  • Recommended for: Neck and bridge positions. The Ultra Jazz Pair was designed to fit the neck and bridge position of the original Fender Jazz Bass, which has neck and bridge pickup cavities of two different sizes. Some current basses use the same length pickup in both positions. Please refer to the dimensions link for the correct choice for your bass
  • Quick Connect: No
  • Wiring: 4 conductor
  • Magnet: Alnico 5 & Ceramic
  • Resistance: 12.3 Kohm

The hum-cancelling Ultra Jazz takes a traditional Fender Jazz Bass sound and really opens it up. Lows are deeper, highs are more percussive, and the mid-range is round but not muddy. Harmonic overtones jump off the strings. It’s also quick; with instant response to either fingers or pick-style playing. There’s only one word for this combination of qualities: “musical”. Choose the perfectly matched Ultra Jazz Pair, or try an Ultra Jazz Bridge pickup with a Split P in the middle position.

Classic distortion, it can be quite angry but does not step into Korn territory.

From rock to jazz and anything in between- it delivers. That’s if you got the chops. Great natural sound that makes the wood’s tone come alive. Very quiet.

I have upgraded many of my basses and I think these are the best overall sound for a Jazz bass. They are almost identical to my 61 jazz bass tone. They are very responsive to strike and force so you can play low volume, then snap the string. If you play slap bass these are the best pickups I've seen. I now use the bass with these pickups to play gigs saving the 61 for studio play only. Best balance between mid range and fat lows. They are like the 61 but with more signal level.

The pick up was pretty easy to install but needs a certain skill to solder them to the electronics in the bass. Did a lot of research also to do the correct wiring. But after setting up the neck, and getting all the action of the strings to the correct height as well as the height of these pickups, took me around 2 months..... Man! They are a fat punchy with power sounding pick ups! Worth the money and wait since other sellers don't ship to Hong Kong. It is a little different than the picture advertised.

Great sounding pickup for leads and cleans. In my opinion, it lacks clarity for fast picking distorted rhythms (metal). I really loved the clean tone. Coil splitting added to its versatility with clean tones. Smooth distorted leads a la Vai sounded spot on as well.Unfortunately I had to swap it out for something with more bite. A pickup I can tone down if necessary, which I think ultimately is a better option. I may place this in another guitar for what it excels in. But if I had bought it in person, I would have returned it

The Evo sounds awesome.I have owned one of these pickups before. They sound great. It is so well balanced, and has a tone that I just love.Could not be happier. It is such a high output pickup, it may not be for everyone, as this can sound harsh if you are not a very clean player.I feel it adds a lot harmonically. The Evo is crisp and biting, and and quite even across the scale.I have this pickup installed in my JEM.Make sure to check if you need F-Space pickups, or Standard Spacing before you make your purchase.I highly recommend this pickup, especially for lead players.

Amazing pickups!! The most harmonic pickups I've ever used. You can pull artificial harmonics soooo easy with these things. And they are as versatile as anything. Beautiful cleans if you want em or play some pantera and GETCHA PULL ON!! Very articulate and not muddy in the least. I put a set in a low end Charvel along with some upgraded Dimarzio pots. Now my $200 guitar sounds better than $2,000 guitars I've owned. Just can't say enough good things about these pickups. Grab a matched set of em. I mean if you are even considering it then just pull the trigger and get em. You'll be glad you did!!!

Bought these to drop into my MIM Fender Jazz. My Fender J is a 2011 model so these are a dead drop in (no filing required) that said, if you have an earlier model MIM, one with the same sized pickups in the neck and bridge position. You will either have to do some filing to make the bridge pickup fit, or buy two neck pickups. Ok, the sound upgrade is immediately evident. They sound fat and rich yet retain the snap for those who like "da funk". Better still, what you don't hear is the hiss you will get from single coil pickups. These things are dead quiet. These can get both vintage and modern sounds. As noted it has very strong percussive highs and clean clean lows. Great upgrade for the MIM Fender Jazz.
